Macintosh Plus Case Badging Variation

So, I've had this Plus for a while and haven't been sure what to make of it. I've never seen any badging done this way. It has the "square" form factor Apple logo, but with a silkscreen. The silkscreening seems to have been done professionally based on what I can see. I thought the "Plus" upgrades only included a new logic board and rear case, so this is a new one for me. Unfortunately the serial tag sticker is missing, so no telling what year it was produced. Open to hearing thoughts!

That's new to me too... Too bad the serial number is missing, might help clear it up a little, but it certainly looks like that silk-screening / lettering was added to a 128/512 case.

Makes me wonder if there's a safe way to remove the lettering. I have a 512k with a really cracked up front bezel - would be a great replacement for that!

Looks really well done. Has the right font and everything. I wonder who did the badging with the upgrade?

I only just recently noticed that my Plus was an upgraded unit without the badging.

It could be either a silkscreen OR at-home silk screen process if you feel over the letterings. I wonder if letterings feel thicker on this Mac than your SE or SE/30, @Garrett?

I would definitely keep it as is!

Might be something like Letraset dry-transfer lettering...

Well, you could try a little high-test IPA on a q-tip...
