Today a February 1996 issue of MacWEEK was uploaded to the Internet Archive featuring a 'beta test' of the Apple Network Server 700. Unlike most of MacWEEK's stories about unreleased machines, this seems to have been an official loan of pre-release hardware. They photographed the server in studio settings and included performance benchmarks.

Are those four additional ethernet cards installed in the back? 🧐

The article starts on page 1 and continues on pages 44 and, with a 90° rotation error, page 46.

Wow, nice find! Yup, those look like the 10Mbit ANS card, and that is definitely an ESB Shiner. I have two of the 10Mbit cards and one of the 100Mbits, but there never were very many.

Not sure what they mean by greased skids in the front drive trays (ewww).

I really wanna know how many were made, ya know?

I have an EVT2 ANS, its kinda nuts to me that there is literaly a non 0 chance that IS my ANS...

Granted, im not sure how many EVT2 ANSs are out there....
