MaxPlus by MacMemory upgrade

I recently purchased a Mac Plus and when I opened it there is this weird looking part next to the floppy drive. It says "Max Chill" "MacMemory" on the side.

When I searched for what it was I found out it was a fan for a memory upgrade. When I pulled the board I found this.

It looks like all of the original memory is on carrier board and a new over oversized memory stick is in the second slot.

I haven't gotten it to boot into an OS yet but it does seem ok since it's just searching for a disk currently.

Seems like it's used to combine 4x256kb sticks into a single 1mb stick, before 1mb sticks are widely available. Don't think it's very useful today since you can easily find 1mb sticks to max it out, but still a cool collection piece
