A few months ago I asked some questions about starting a business and gut some good answers. It's taken longer then I hoped 2025 hasn't been kind. Im almost finished with my first product and idk if I should start with that or get some more ideas churning. And as for selling do I have to start a llc at first and should I sell through eBay, Amazon or a custom square space page? Any advice is welcome

1.) It is most important to start. You can plan and strategize until the cows come home and never actually START anything. There is always an excuse to not start. Put your product out there. Make some sales. Get things moving.

2.) My opinion is that an LLC is a huge benefit to the small businessman with limited assets as it isolates your personal assets from those of the company assets. It protects from potential litigation/lawsuits, debt collectors etc. Those greedy bastards can't go after what you have; only that of the company. For the small business person starting out with extremely limited means, this is a critical point of protection. It's worth the time and money up front to stand up an LLC.

Yeah I figured I'd sit down with a lawyer to sort out all I needed

If you already have a lawyer, sure, but I wouldn't seek one out for this purpose.

Research the process and create the business entity.

When you receive an EIN which is the business counterpart to an SSN, you can create a business bank account, paypal, etc.

On liability, unless you're making things that can seriously harm life or property, just throw some on ebay and see what happens.
