I just subscribed to a basic account for MidJourney and I'll share my results here.

Let's start with:

Code:
an exactly 512x342 resolution bitmap image with perfectly square pixels with only pure white or pure black as the only two possible colors showing the gameplay of a brand new platformer game with similarities to Dark Castle from Silicon Beach software, with a medieval theme for the background and characters. gray colors are not permitted at all but are rather hinted at by the relative density of black pixels used in some regions of the image.

Code:
a luxury 40th anniversary re-release of a Macintosh Plus computer from Apple, preserving the idea of an all-in-one computer and preserving some hints of the original design language. Still has the included screen in an all-in-one case. the machine is photographied in glamour shots with a shallow depth of field photograph as a picture meant for a magazine ad.

I'm not really happy with this one, more apple ii-ish than Macintosh.

this failure is still interesting:

a 512x342 bitmap screenshot of a Deja Vu 3 game sequel, in the exact same style as the first two of the series, developped by ICOM simulations and published by Mindscape. Has to strictly follow a 1 bit monochrome color scheme with only pure black or only pure white as the palette. Show it as our hero Ace Harding is viewing his messy detective office with night time seen from a window from a first person point of view as is the norm with that series

It will not understand UI instructions, but this time, the ambience is perfect.
a 512x342 bitmap screenshot of a Deja Vu 3 game sequel, in the exact same style as the first two of the series, developped by ICOM simulations and published by Mindscape. This game theme must be about a Noir style mid-40's detective story of crime investigation around Chicago. Has to strictly follow a 1 bit monochrome color scheme with only pure black or only pure white as the palette. Show it as our hero Ace Harding is viewing his messy detective office with night time seen from a window from a first person point of view as is the norm with that series. The main first person view must be in a window taking roughly 40% of the total space and must show the hero detective's office from within. There must be a small window on top taking roughly 10% of the space with keyword command buttons. There must be an inventory window on the left taking roughly 20% of the space on the left with some items shown as small images, for example a pack of cigarettes, a wallet and a gun. There must be a large but small window containing a descriptive text of the current are on the bottom acting as the game's way of providing additional details about like in a classic text game.

I can’t wait to one day request a bunch of “32 x 32 bitmap icons, using only pure white and pure black, in the style of Susan Kare….”

sometimes a little more than other times, but it's a struggle. I'm disappointed by that fact.

How do they turn out if you run them through a simple threshold dither filter in PS, and resize?

Does it ruin them?

@Mu0n, try this?

Code:
Draw a 512x342 pixel image with a maximum resolution of 72 dots per inch in 1 bit black and white.

where "image" is a description of the image that you type in. :)

That’s a good setup and got closer but I just don’t think that kind of metacommand is supported by MidJourney. Inspired by @Mu0n I tried it with image—> “house”. It’s got the feel of B&W pixel art without actually being truly B&W or respecting my resolution instructions:

To clarify after reading Apple's Technical Notes HW 14 - Macintosh SE/30 on page 2, the video architecture of the SE and SE/30 is one-bit per pixel monochrome display with 342 lines of 512 pixels each. So, perhaps the code can be adjusted as follows?

Code:
Draw a monochrome image in 1 bit per pixel up to 342 lines with 512 pixels each line with a maximum resolution of 72 dots per inch.
where "image" is a description of the image that you type in. "Monochrome" could be substituted with "black and white."

Have you seen my first post's query? I thought I formulated a restriction on colors without using the word monochrome and it was the worst of the bunch.

Draw a monochrome image of a random macintosh game from 1986 in 1 bit per pixel up to 342 lines with 512 pixels each line with a maximum resolution of 72 dots per inch, fill the rest of image, outside of the main 512 pixels by 342 pixels zone with black as filler.

Hmmm, nice imagination. Yet, not one bit black and white. Also, those 110 AI imagined icons in that screenshot are not 32x32 bit images. :)

Oh, I don't remember Steve Jobs approving an IBM PC icon, either. Oh! the AI made a blunder on the 77th icon! 😂😂🤣

Edit: Looks like less than 110 icons because the AI was sloppy with the grid and not all icons are even and straight. *face palm*
