Thanks for the explanation! Do I need a different rom for using it with an AUI TP adapter?

I don( know, probably not but you never know. Also auto-detection is dodgy in some of those old cards, in particular when connected when newer switches. There's threads some other cards, see here or here. They might provide some information.

The card never started working again. Luckily I found an Asanté Nubus Card on eBay and it works just great. The connection and auto negotiation with my UniFi 24 Pro Switch worked immediately.

The LED is blinking once when I power on the Mac. So, I think it is getting some power. But I assume that I broke traces when I desoldered the Nubus connector
