Odd PRAM Battery Issue

Hey folks! So, as you know from earlier threads about my G4 mirror door Mac, I'm getting ready to swap the power supply. I'm just waiting for the ATX cable adapter.

There is one curious problem I want to address.

If I were to unplug the G4, it wouldn't hold the PRAM data. The battery I put in myself in 2010, when I got the Mac. I suspected the PRAM battery may be dying...except that when I checked it with my multi-meter, it registered at 3.54 volts. I'm a bit confused. Isn't the battery still good?

That would be good voltage. When it's in the holder, do you get the same voltage testing the contact pads around it? Maybe the battery holder is bad instead.
Well, it should be interesting to see if this issue comes back, once I get the G4's power supply back from Andy's refurbishing service in Texas. Andy starts work on it Monday.
