So this is something that I encountered whilst trying to troubleshoot a broken (as in, system cannot see the card at all) Audigy 2. Apparently, there's some kind of epidemic of sound cards dying due to EEPROMs just...giving up. Someone mentioned it in the TD Discord and further looking had me over at this Vogons thread about it.
So, why not make a posting about it here, to raise awareness? Because unlike VGA BIOSes, I don't think anyone thought about the ROMs on their sound cards, and the ROM dumps aren't generally available like they are for video cards. Knowing all this, I got my Audigy 2 ZS (that still works) and captured a dump of it with my T48 (and I've attached it to this post).
Maybe if you've got a card that hasn't been dumped/backed up and you have the expertise to do so, might be a good idea. (And please post it somewhere!)
