The video output on my PCjr looks like it's losing horizontal sync whenever I reboot after it's been running for a while. When it happens, I usually have to leave it turned off for at least 20 minutes. It's been doing this since I got it in 2021. I have recapped the motherboard (and maybe the power board). I'm curious whether anyone has any ideas about why this might be happening. This is an example picture of the phenomenon.

Well, you have a couple routes to troubleshoot... is it the computer output or the monitor that is misbehaving? Do you have a 2nd computer or 2nd monitor you can connect to and see which is the culprit? From there, then you can troubleshoot the defective device.

@phunguss I only have the one PCjr and the one PCjr display, and the proprietary connector means I can't try the display on another computer. I do, however, have the adapter that allows for regular CGA displays to be connected to the computer, though I'm not really sure where it is. Also, the weather at the moment isn't really conducive to bringing things in from outside.
@ClassicHasClass I suppose I could have a go at opening up the display to touch up the solder joints, but it'll have to wait until the temperature is back above freezing.
In the meantime, as long as I don't reboot, I'm doing alright. I only broke out the PCjr so I could format the 100+ DSDD disks I found at work a couple of weeks ago.
