Howdy folks,
The CCFL tubes in my Pismo's screen are yellowing to the point it's becoming an eye sore. After 20 minutes they whiten out pretty good but it takes longer and longer each time. I've found replacement tubes that I can put in but would like to explore an LED option, if one exists.
Looking for any such repairs/upgrades in written guide or video format form along with links to parts I'd need. Any help appreciated

I didn't even know there were multiple. Is there an easy way to find out without pulling the whole thing apart?

Not easily - for the Pismo, there were two manufacturers - Samsung or Chi Mei. Both have different cable configs.

Samsung:

LT141X7-124 5mm Thick
LT141X5-126
LT141X7-124-P2

Chi Mei:

N141X20

I'm working on replacing my iBook Clamshell's CCFL Backlight with an LED one right now! I'm still working out a few kinks with brightness control, but for improving screen visibility, this is a fantastic upgrade. No thanks! I will not take the easy way out, determined to rebuild the existing display After I found out there are multiple versions though, the project got moved way back. I do not have the space to keep a disassembled Pismo around until I get to ordering the parts I need and do the rebuild.
