PowerBook 1xx kickstand / flippy foot

Not sure how to name these, but I made the model. Still untested though, and I'm not sure of the screw pitch yet.

Those are elevation foot parts with Apple P/N 815-1278 (left) and 922-1691 (right).

Do you (or anyone else) ever do an actual print based on your 3D designs? Would love to see photos if you have.

The rubber bottom part of each rear foot cracks apart due to age, making a modern replacement solution important.

Of course, the main issue would be to find a filament color (or one at JLC3DP, since I don't have a 3D printer) match the gray body of the PowerBook.

Well I was waiting for a proper filament color but it seems Joe's on it. As for the rubber part, I have a TPU that's close.

I'd need to split the model to print the two separately like I did for the 5xx feet.

If the bottom plastic part could be designed in such a way that a TPU or silicone "cap" could easily be slipped on and stay in place, that would allow swapping out only the caps in the future.

Yes that's what I did for the 5xx ones.

I just found out that power book 150 feet are fully compatible across a broad range of machines and don’t use any rubber part at all. They are a solid piece of plastic.

While having rubber bottoms is the ideal, it’s not really that practical. Rubber caps would come off and deteriorate over time.

It therefore might make a lot more sense to reproduce the PowerBook 150 feet. What do you think?

There's no reason not to have both option if the model is done properly, as I did for the 5xx ones.
