PowerMac G3 Personality Card - looking for 182 pin PERCH 90’ edge connector adapter

I have a PowerMac Beige G3 logic board that I want to mount inside a specific case. That case isn't tall enough for the G3 personality card.

Does anyone know of an edge connector adapter that is compatible with this, that would turn the card 90 degrees, like how PCI adapters do it?

Doing some research, this card used a 182-pin PERCH edge connector, which apparently was a subset of PCI.

I am still looking for a solution that would mount this card horizontal with a 90-degree adapter.

@Mr. Fahrenheit I think that may be the same connector used in the X100 PDS slot.

https://www.connectorpeople.com/Connector/BURNDY/C/CEE2X91S-V7Z14

The linked connector is confirmed as the connector matching the X100 PDS slot. I ordered a few of them and compared.

So you may wish to compare the Beige G3 Perch slot with your 7100 PDS slot and see if it's the same connector.

That's great! I'll look into it. Thank you!

I guess a PCB could be made up with the fingers, and traces to holes for that connector, to turn it 90'. If that ends up being the correct connector, I'll have to commission someone to build said PCB design for me ( I tried messing around with EasyEDA and gave up).

Actually, looking at my notes again, it appears that what I actually ordered from TCP was Burndy CEE2X91S-3Z14

They're the same part, except for pin length or plating or some such. I'm not sure why I got the 3Z14. Perhaps the V7Z14 turned out to be unavailable.

@Mr. Fahrenheit Over on teh connectors for Macs thread, I confirmed that the Beige G3 personality slot and the X100 PDS slot do indeed use the same connector.

There's also an alternative connector posted there from Mouser.

I have a 6100 PDS L adapter. Do you think this would work here ?

If the 6100 adapter is completely passive and passes all the connections through, it should work.

The thing I would especially check, is that they didn't put a ground plane on the adapter and then connect all the pins they expect to be ground together on that plane on the adapter.

You can't count on the same pins being ground on the 6100 as on the Beige G3 Perch.

Tedious. Checking would require identifying which pins aer ground on the 6100 PDS (is there a pinout in the Hardware Developer Notes?) and then probing on the adapter.

The adapters I have contain chips, and circuitry which means they aren't passive. What I really need is this: PowerMac 6100 AV card L adapter bracket. It's passive. Can't locate one, desperate to find one.
