I have a QuickTake 100 that's working nicely, but I was wondering if there's a need to open it up and do some preventative maintenance? Has anyone taken one of these apart?

They’re kind of annoying to open up - inside you’ll find a handful of small electrolytic capacitors.

I haven’t heard of these cameras needing to be recapped, which makes sense to me - relatively low voltage and very little heat build up.

You’re probably better leaving it alone.

Are they surface mount caps? If so, it doesn't matter how low voltage or cool they are, they will fail and leak. Even if they are through-hole caps, they can still fail. As long as they aren't surface mounted, you should be ok as long as it works (as Stephen said), but if they're surface mount caps then you're in for trouble either way.
