I'm pretty new at this and could not find a kit at Console5. Could someone check my replacement selection list? I've tried to find the same or better specs including size.

On the screen
4 x 47 uF 16V
2 x 10 uF 16V
2 x 10 uF 25V

On the power board
2 x 22 uF 25V

Here’s the "corrected" measurements for the caps:

On the 180C screen
Qty- Cap base width - capacitance voltage
4x - 6.0mm - 47 uF 16 V
2X - 3.2mm - 10 uF 16 V
2x - 5.3mm - 10 uF 25 V

On the LCD power board
2X - 6.8mm tall 2mm leads - 22 uF 10 V

Console5 responded to my email with suggestions for a kit. They recommend similar electrolytic caps due to the EMR rating. I'll post the link to the kit when they create it.

Hi,
I must recap my 180c too..., but afaik the caps are 9 not 8. The little ones 10-16v are 3 not 2.
question: How tall are the caps? I want to order some replacement but I do not know the maximum tall size. can you help me?
Note: I live in Switzerland, and ordering the kit from console5 has shipping costs far too high...

Hi: what you mean "corrected" size? wich ones are the REAL ones? I have to buy aluminium electrolitic caps, better if the size is right and now I'm getting confused...

The 170's display doesn't have any non-solid caps. The only electrolytic in the whole system as far as I can tell is one single through-hole on the display inverter board (inside the bottom case), and it's unlikely to fail. Unsure of the value if you want to replace it, but it should be easy to check for yourself.

Corrected in the sense that I did not measure them correctly the first time. Console5 created a kit with tantalum caps with the correct values. I would take a look there.

According to Console5, the 22uf 10v caps on the display "power board" are polymers. Is this correct? I'm having contrast issues on my own 180c that's already had the display caps changed, but I haven't yet swapped out the 2 on that separate board, and I'm hoping that they're bad.

Luke from Console5 didn't think the two power board caps needed replacing as they are unlikely to fail. Yes, they are polymers.
