SE/30 Chassis Painting

Just wanted to show off a bit of work that I did today. The chassis had a bit of rust on one of the rails so I felt it would be a perfect candidate to do a bit of painting on it and show off in the beautiful Mac Effects case. After taking off the rust and cleaning everything thoroughly, I decided to go with a nice glossy black. I thought this would make everything else pop. I thought about doing the PSU as well but held off for now.

Let me know your thoughts, should I have gone with something different, a bit more bold? I'd love to some day get some lights inside and an RGB fan. I also have a nice accelerator that I need to acquire an adapter for to help top things off.

The black contrasts nicely - I like it. I’ve been thinking whether to do something similar for my MacEffects SE/30.

When doing a full restoration, is painting the chassis recommended? I have been worried painting would somehow make proper grounding difficult.

That looks awesome! I think black is the right choice unless you want to go full wild contrast. In that case; splatter paint or some tie-dye effect would be neat and IMO Macintosh appropriate.
