SE/30 -> Default state of NEC VRAM

Hi All, Question, did a recap of the condensators, Power On -> have a boot sound but then dotted vertical lines. (was also before the recap) Had some battery leakage. But the Mac was stored for 20 years in a bag with display faced up. If you look at the logic board at UE8 and UF8 you see some corrosion. touched it with the iron but no effect.
I see that these chips are still available should I replaced them?

Hello!

Is that a 'before' picture? The capacitors don't look replaced. For example, C3, C4, C5, and C6 look original. If you haven't already, replace all the capacitors, then clean all corroded areas with isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush. (And then an ultrasonic cleaner if you have one.) Doing so eliminates those as causes, and exposes any areas where a trace may be damaged.

Yes! Absolutely.

What worries me about your photo is that I'm not seeing any on-screen images from ROM. No cursor, disk, or desktop pattern. So, although I believe the video output circuit needs work, I suspect there is another problem as well. That should not dissuade you -- as your board doesn't look that bad.

So what do you think about the UE8 and UF8? Corrosion look severe if you compare it with rest of the board

If it were my board, I would remove both of those. Then, clean the area well to spot any broken traces. Then replace them with new parts. If you are going to go to the trouble of removing the old ones, you might as well replace them with fresh parts.
