Honestly, a little shell shocked about this. Learning this evening that he passed has really been a gut punch and has unpredictably led to some genuine tears, especially in the wake of the passing of Walter Koenig on Sunday.
It's reminding me that I'm in the stage of life where childhood heroes, musicians, actors, comedians are all leaving. It started with James Doohan for me, and what was a trickle, every few years, is slowly becoming a deluge.
One of my favourite, poignant quotes of the character of Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek : Generations sums things up for me;
