SMD adhesive recommendations?

I recently re-capped a IIci, and for one of the caps I needed to fashion wire "pads" to the traces because the original pads were gone. The solder connections from the cap to the wires seem fine, but the cap is a bit wobbly, and I'm a little concerned it could be knocked off during cleaning or other handling.

Does anyone have recommendations for adhesive to secure the cap to the board a little better?

Hot glue. It's obvious and can be removed without damaging the board.

On the 1uF capacitor with a lifted pad on the SE/30 board, I used a large drop of superglue gel followed by a touch of activator for an instant cure. I wanted something sturdier than hot glue, given just how tenuous the connection was. I’d have used a bodge wire if had figured out where to solder it. In other less tenuous settings, I’ve used hot glue with good effect.

CA glue is probably fine (and certainly a lot easier to obtain) but if you want a more "official" SMD component glue, something like Loctite 3609 is what gets used to secure parts to PCBs before they go through reflow during manufacturing.

Thanks for the glue recommendation! Got myself a glue gun and secured the wobbly cap successfully.

Typically, yes if it's high temp glue. If it does detach, you can reflow it with hot air or an iron set to low temperature.

CA glue often detaches from the board after cleaning.
