Bought for a bargain, from US eBay - sold as not working - seller stated it wouldn't boot into the OS, or froze. I have an inkling that it's either the correct extension not being loaded, or there's an issue with the cache.

The cache sits on the rear of the card and it looks like a QFP that's easy enough to desolder.

Luckily, UTSource lists the cache at £2.48 each for new old stock.

Could also be overheating, although that's less likely with a PPC750 than it was with the PPC601. Still, it might be worth checking the heat sink compound.

Oh it's more than likely that it's crispy concrete by now, but sonnet make their heatsink screws out of alloy cheese -_-

I noticed that on some G3-L2 slot upgrades I have. They must have shopped long and hard to find screws that crappy....

It's kind of like this steak I had at a fancy restaurant in Paris back in '87. They must have labored long hours with great skill to create a sauce that exact shade of green that had precisely no flavor.
