I have revision b and wonder if there was speed improvement in revision c or should both had the same speed?

Revision C was mostly to facilitate using it on Mac that don't provide termpower (a B can be easily converted to C).

IMHO, the speed increase, if possible, could come by a optimisation in the firmware, but I think the software is stable since long ago.

Ok, thanks for answer. I have updated the drivers with Disk Drive Setup 1999-2000. Will try to reformat the card with exFAT so will have to use Windows not Mac to write the disc images on..

Mac can also format using exFat... no need to go to the dark side for that... ;)

If you'd like to "upgrade" your b to c you can follow these instructions - as @pfuentes69 said it's just to allow proper termination in all power scenarios. Also if you bought from a reseller we did the bodge for you after we realized the issue. Hardware revs likely will not change any performance. OS 8 disk drivers (even if you're on an older system) will give you a few % boost. Still trying to get time to finish my utility to do that :)

Well, I will leave it as is. Formatting it to exFAT made a 100% increase in speed! 🤯

Testing with Norton System info the drive made a score of 55 (Just a little above Mac SE and below LC II), updating drivers made it a little above 60. Formatting the card made it 125 just above Quadra 700, 950, PowerBook 5300 and Duo 2300 which got 113 ...

One more question. I can not use any system software above 7.5? System 7.1 and 7.5 work fine. System 7.6 or 8 do not. They lock just before loading desktop and alert box about wrong time clock.. any idea?

I had success with 7.6.1, but not when trying 8.x. I think later Eric made a better image to run 8, but didn’t try yet.

What machine are you using? I think 7.6.1 needs a 32bit clean rom, but not 100% sure

You have an even earlier version. To be stable on faster machines you'll need to update.
