Hi!

Now my Mac SE is up and running nicely with a fresh new install of System 6.0.8, I was wondering what’s needed to set it to British English? I’d like my sensible date ordering and Wastebasket back :)

(Also, it occurred to me that current macOS uses “Bin”, which is fine… but Wastebasket’s classier ;) )

i think you would need to install a different OS ?
i have not tried this yet. so ... idk if its legit. international system 6 one of the options is `System 6:English:English (British)`
my downloads from macintoshrepository has been hit or miss. Perhaps macintoshgarden also have links.
i think with like system 7 and above you had control panel's that could set things up and so the need for different localized versions of the OS is less.

(fwiw, on my newest macOS. its "Trash" not Bin for me. I had no idea Trash was localized also :p )

2nd resedit. it was my goto "moding" tool for me back in the day. Lots of fun changing things around with it.

One of the things I’ve always appreciated about Apple is the lengths they go to with their internationalisation (at least for the UK — can’t speak for others).

Sure, we understand ‘color’ and anything ‘-ization’, but it’s nice to use a system that reads naturally.
