Tango 2 without drivers installed is hanging my 6360 during Happy Mac phase of boot. Does that make any sense?

It's Alchemy Architecture, not Gazelle in which this card is problematic without the Great Gazelle PCI Fix.
Makes no sense to me unless some PCI equivalent of DeclROM in a NuBus Mac is present?

Any suggestions?

Completely out of left field, but are your voltages OK? I've seen weird hangs when the PSU wasn't capable of sustaining voltages across PCI cards.

HRMMM? I've run all kinds of cards in this critter and this is the first glitch. I'll try the trio in there to see if that's a problem. Don't recall if I've booted it up with the Tango in the top slot or not, trio booted up without drivers just fine.

Can't imagine it's a power problem, My test rig is basically a 6400 harness in a 6360 (? ) shell with full blown 6400 PSU sitting next to it.

Changing PCI Cards in the 6360 and 5x00 machines it a real PITA.

Will report back, most likely problem would be a static zapped card, but that's never happened to me either..

DId it boot once and load drivers? Sometimes, if the Mac is not shut down, but restarted, the drivers will stay in memory.

There used to be a long explanation about this phenomenon with respect to CDROM drivers. Boot once, get your HD CDTK loaded, and after that the CD ROM drive was bootable on restart.

If you're shutting down between every test, then never mind.
