Either my Google skills are fading or I can't find any references to this error message.

Triggered while trying to play a file off the disc image at https://www.macintoshrepository.org/1049-quicktime-beta-1991-1992- using https://infinitemac.org/1999/Mac OS 9.0

Mostly posting so there's a reference to this error message somewhere.

Select "Recent Applications" from the Apple menu to open the "Recent Applications" folder.
Select the "MoviePlayer" icon, then select "Show Original" in the "File" menu. This will select the application that you are trying to run.
Select "Get Info" from the "File" menu. What version does it show?

MoviePlayer 1.1d2 and 2.1 exist in the "Multimedia" folder on the "Infinite HD". They both seem to load fine. Can one of them play the movie that you are trying to play?

QuickTime Player 4.0.1 exists in the "Applications/QuickTime" folder on the "Macintosh HD". It also might be able to play the movie.
