Just wanted to thank everyone on this post. I had a similar issue with a friends SE/30. I used the info here to order chips from digikey and it solved my problem. It was UE8 that was bad, but I had ordered all new chips so I just replaced everything. The chip replacement for UE8 is a bit larger than the original chip. it just fit onto the pads at the outer ends. You just have to get it on there perfect. Again thanks for your help!
