All,
I recently got myself an Apple //c with some add-ons, like external diskette drive and ... a joystick. Based on reverse image search the joystick seems to unbranded and sold with various devices.
It works however, at least somehow, according to some small basic programs found on the Internet reading button presses or axis movements. The values of the axis seem to roam quite a lot. And the adjustment slides are very, very coarse. Some contact cleaning may be required.
I did open the joystick to find some sort of mess and cut / loose wires. Any ideas why there are cut wires? This looks like a hobbyist slapping together something that works.. maybe. It certainly does not look like a commercial product, at least not anymore. There is also a strip of plastic holding the pin of button 2 in close contact with the switch.
Can somebody tell about this joystick? Is there maybe schematics somewhere?
