So i got the itch recently and created a browser based on the unified XUL platform that will run on 10.7 - 12.6. I always liked the seamonkey / netscape navigator UI, so here it is in all its glory. Some themes and popular extensions (that are modified to install) are included. More info can be found here: https://github.com/wicknix/SeaLion/

Very nice. Works great under High Sierra. Will be doing some testing on my older systems as well.

Only spotted one small rendering glitch so far. The text overlay in the search box of GitHub’s beta global navigation is a bit wonky.

Agreed rjkucia, it is a great name. Love seeing more projects like this! FF Legacy was already a thing, but I think I'll be giving this a go as the existing options are a bit wonky, and the older UI this one uses should run a lot smoother on old systems. Excellent.

I do wonder if there's ever a chance of seeing a browser for Intel 10.4. There have been a couple TFF builds over the years but nothing modern as far as I know.

Thanks for the report. I'll pass it on to the UXP devs as its a rendering issue rather than a UI issue.

It would be cool to see a modern built browser for the older Macs. :) TCP/IP and PPP with some software magic, why not? If the Mac is adept at stripping things and only processing and displaying what is needed, why not? 🤓

Works great on my MacBook2,1 running 10.7 Lion. Only saw one minor graphical glitch on the Quit dialog box where the bottom of the Quit, Cancel, and Save and Quit buttons are chopped off.

Yeah i noticed that too with the communicator theme. If you switch to the basic theme it's fine (tools -> add-ons manager -> themes).

I'll see if i can resize the dialog box for the communicator theme in a future build.

That did the trick. Thanks! (Sent from a MacBook2,1 running 10.7 and SeaLion - works like a charm!)

I've been meaning to get this on my mbp since Friday morning lol. Great work. I love the clean, minimal theme especially the collapsible menus out of the box. It kind of reminds me (stylistically) of the ppc one world browser for that AphoticD put together years back.

Pretty cool when you put SL's clean UI next to say, everything going on in a vanilla install of Opera.

Can't wait to get into and use SL a bit.

SeaLion 32.5.0 is now available for Mac and Linux. This is a major development and security update.
