Weird.. post deletion?

Don’t have evidence yet, but I feel like some of my posts keep getting deleted. I have been stuck at 90-ish posts for quite some time now and didn’t think much of it but seems weird. Searching for my posts showed I have only made one post since April 20th (a post I made a few minutes earlier today regarding portrait monitors) and I could have sworn I had made more since April. Anyhow, something I will keep my eye on…

Looked at your history and I see the owner of a thread deleted their thread and you had a reply on it (would affect your count) - otherwise i went through the audit log - there's no deletes or anything a moderator did to your account.

With how this site is managed (coming from massive data losses of other platforms) including publicly elected, non-permanent, rotating leadership structure, I highly doubt any shenanigans would ever intentionally occur. Integrity is incredibly high here and with that trust of admins & site leadership. The folks here are top notch people.

This was double validated by @bakkus in our admin channel - and ya you'd have to convince quite a few people to "go along" with miss-representing something like this - also would be happy to share the screen shots/etc if needed via DM of the original thread - the original user deleted the thread for a reason (I dont know their reasons, but not my place to undelete something someone wanted deleted from the public internet)

An owner of a thread can delete the work of others by deleting their thread? That seems wrong.

To be clear, I was NOT claiming any shenanigans.

My first thought was a bug in the software which is why I reported it here in the feedback section. It just seemed like my post count has been stuck for the first half of this year. Not something I care about to be honest, but it caused me to wonder if there was a bug.

I did not realize threads can be deleted. Was under the impression that although posts can be forever edited (which is a good thing in my opinion), I thought threads with replies couldn’t be deleted. That explains things, thanks.

Is it possible you've typed some posts and forgot to hit the "Post reply" button? That's one of my favorite tricks. Especially for more involved postings where a lot of my attention might be on reference material.

Haha. No, I am pretty sure I saw the count go backwards. It must be the deleted thread.
