Not sure what output and settings to do I’ve been messing with it for hours

So you can see the Extron display on the monitor, but the Extron is not getting any signal. It can be the adapter or cable that isn't right.

Pics of the cable, adapter, and back of the Mac? :) Then one of us will help you.

Still no idea how to fix it detects a 640x480 signal at 60hz and it’s just a glowing black screen are my settings bad?

Show me what you are trying. Post a video. You may want to adjust the title of this thread to include "Extron," as this will help others too. :)

I’m doing DB-15 cable that goes into a DB-15 to VGA adapter plugged into the RGB input and outputs through my HDMI cable. So now I guess I have to find an db-15 to RGB cable great.

DB15 to VGA should work because that is what I have, although I am using Apple part number 590-0322-A. But what are you connecting from Extron to the monitor? HDMI to HDMI?

Okay, it is not working with that connection set up for me, either. So, I will put a Mac Video to VGA adapter with DIP switches to VGA cable and see how it works. I doubt, I will see.

I was able to get it to work in this order:
  1. Mac DB15 Female Video Out connector on the Mac (Mac IIci, LC, LCII, whatever box Mac that has DB15 out)
  2. DB15 to VGA adapter with DIP switches
  3. VGA cable ---> Extron RGB input
  4. Extron HDMI Out ---> HDMI to HDMI cable
  5. HDMI Input on monitor or TV
I have not played with the DIP switches to get a more accurate picture on the screen, but I could see my Mac IIci boot up on my HDMI monitor.

So, @jajan547, get the DB15 to VGA adapter with DIP switches. Save the DB15 to VGA adapter. You can use it with the Apple IIGS or a vintage computer that has DB15 RGB out to input RGB in the Extron. :)

Honestly, I don’t remember all that many issues with Mac video signal. Mac to VGA converter will do the job. A good multi sync lcd panel will do the rest. I have a couple of Eizo 19” displays, they work just fine.

I am able to use my Samsung SyncMaster 710N LCD VGA monitor from my IIci with the DB15 to VGA adapter with DIP switches and it works very well.

The Extron is best for older vintage computers that output RGB in signals are are not normally picked up by modern monitors such as from the Apple IIGS.
