So, what are we gonna measure next?

That is a good question. How much heat does the CRT itself radiate as it does this thing?

Yes, thats the big question.

Mounting the temp resistor to the coil or neck is something that maybe dangerous.

Yes, dangerous! I was thinking about AVOIDING the neck area and just seeing how hot the metal enclosure of CRT gets? You do NOT have to mount it there. Mount on the underside of the top of the Classic II case and get the probe as close to the CRT itself as you can WITHOUT TOUCHING IT. Maybe that will work? That can help measure the RADIATING HEAT from the CRT without touching the CRT itself.

Yes. As I suggested, mount the probe wire above the CRT vacuum tube on the underside of the top of the case. You could lower the end near the CRT tube without touching it. The heat radiates from the tube as the electrons are fired constantly to smash the phosphor screen.

Not only for fun, its to know what needs cooling, so you can adjust the cooling flow effectively, and then maybe reduce rpm-(noise)

But I am sorry to say the Tube temp here does not get higher than 41C .
Delta T of about 20C
So the fan does work here effectively I suspect. No ABS plastic melting at this point.

Now we know the CRT in the compact Macs gives off only as much as a hot summer day. I learned something new for sure. 🤓 👨‍🔬 📺

Where would the water blocks and radiator go? The heat sources aren't all that concentrated in a Mac.

Resume: At least the Classic II gets warm, not superhot.
Why do other minimacs get higher in their temps?
Thats what would interrest me.

It has vents in the handle.

Yes, the compact Macs are engineered so that heat is not concentrated, unlike PCs. Again, it's curiosity. Keeping the artificial extension of ourselves (the Mac) cool is a fascinating thing. If a human was at 41 degrees C, then that is dangerous. Thus, treating our fellow Macs like our own extensions makes sense to ensure they are comfortable at average body temperature. Even Apple stated in owner's manuals that Macs must be at comfortable temperatures like ours.

So, that is a good question. Where can we place the water blocks, the pump, the second fan, and the tubes?

It has vents in the handle.

And yet, the Mac Classic II and the rest of the compact Macs get as hot as a summer's day even with ventilation and, if equipped, fans blowing out the heat.

Just to say thanks for uploading this! I've used it to replace a noisy squirrel cage and it's a lot quieter now.

I did have to make a small hole in the mount to get through to the original fan's power lines.
