I recently acquired both a PM7600 and Beige G3 desktop with very brittle plastics. Both internal Card Retainer Baffles were damaged and missing pieces. I know they don't really do much, but I would like to have the part for completeness sake. I am generating a 3D model that I will share. While largely intact, some fragments are missing, so I am looking for photos of the G3 baffle specifically in the forward left side when closed and in place. Bottom device, left side of this photo.

Just wondering if anything important was there, or if it is just a chipped edge. Upper device, right side of this photo.

The tops of both of these models appear nearly identical. This 7600 part has a chip missing on the top, but I assume there was nothing there but the fin like the G3 one.

The minor difference is at the card slot end (rear of the machine), and the baffle placement on the underside.

So post me some pics of an undamaged device so I can complete my 3D model and print in my newly acquired PLA filament.

My 3D printer is an Ender 3 Pro, so limited to 8x8x8 inches. I had to split this in two and add a seam. I was pondering gluing them together, but after printing I remembered that I have some threaded inserts, or I could use nuts. I may just soldering iron in some knurled inserts.

I printed the left side (front end) on a raft, and that makes it not so smooth. The right side (back end) I printed with just a brim and I had no adhesion issues. I may reprint the other piece.

Either way, pretty good fit so far (I still have to cleanup the brim).

I did make it thicker overall on all pieces, so hopefully it is stronger.

I did NOT include the top side ridges so I could print it face down for better bed adhesion and less supports (less waste). The ridges are included in the full piece STL files, but not in the spliced versions. Add your own screw holes or join them with your preferred method. Splits are the G3-7600-CRB.zip and the single piece items are CRB-both.zip.

I never would have thought this part would be different on the G3 desktop, I wonder what issue/problem they were trying to address?

Here are some pictures of the Card Retainer Baffles from my 7300 and G3 desktop, mine are broken in places too, but not exactly where your's are.

Thanks so much! I will update my G3 files to add that hook on the rear corner (where mine was missing).

FYI - I also have a 7200 chassis and its Card Retainer Baffle looks to be identical to my 7300. I think that covers the pre-G3 desktops that used that general form factor, so I'm guessing that means the 7200, 7500, 7600, 7300 (in chronological order) used the same style. It seems when they got to the G3 desktop Apple decided to make some tweaks, other than this part they also changed the CD-ROM eject button, maybe other subtle things too?

I could KISS you!! I've been laying the broken cover in my 7500 just so it still has some form of airflow direction. This solves one of the two major issues. The other being the plastic back corner broke so now the case flexes.
