Oooh thank you for thorough reply - and that enabler - opens more doors. I just made a development today after I posted this, I found Newer Technology MacClip Jnr in my sash (which I had forgotten!) - I installed that today and managed to get it upto 44mhz. I am still planning to do Option C...

Quadra 800 "Wombat" overclocking - options

Hey all, As I have Quadra 800 logic board inside Quadra 700 case, it also has DOS compatible card installed with extension to the NuBus ports as well. (Quadra 700 logicboard was battery cancer, and Quadra 800 case shattered into pieces hence two into one - Love the shape of Quadra 700 case, and...

    6100/66 DOS Compatible

yes and Quadra 700 you will need to modify the case lid & it will need an adapter to reach the I/O ports (its about 3.5" too short) to be able to use that card which I have here. Also; I think Quadra 605 can have that card too (I can't remember 100%.) Cheers AP

Getting Quadra 950 connected on the internet

Best thing would be to get ethernet to wifi bridge adapter with usb power. Pending on what mac OS you're using, Open Transport is lot easier, Also AppleShare 3.8.8 from Mac OS 9.2.2 is the best one that works in System 7.5.5 Cheers AP

    PPC CHRP for PPC Macintosh

As for past couple of weeks we have seen people trying out CHRP enablers for Macintosh. I have experienced with it with my PowerBook G3 Wallstreet running Sonnet G3 500mhz. What I have found; System 7.1 - crashes/unstable, could not show monitors etc System 7.5.3 - unstable. System 7.5.5 - I...

SD to IDE drive replacement for PDQ PowerBook G3

I recently did benchmark and tested to see which was better for my PowerBook G3 - I am doing mix-n-match and build good one. attached results of; Spinning Hard Drive standard 4gb. 44pin to SD 44pin to mSATA 44pin to m.2 Obviously which I knew that M2 would be much faster. System that was...

    PB1400 PRAM Battery rebuild

Hey all - I recently just rebuilt new set of PRAM batteries for my PowerBook 1400/166, It has dual PRAM batteries in it (only 166 models has dual pram batteries), but I've came into a drama with it... I copied and made new pack with rechargeable VL2330 batteries, from old one using the original...

TiBook G4 1GHz stopped recognising any ssd/hard disk

I've had history for CF in newer Macs ie. G3/G4s, CF is too slow for it hence I do not like IDE to CF at all, I'd rather use IDE to SD or IDE to M2/mSATA for it - much faster. I recommend you to get 44pin to m2 for it - my TiBook has it for past 4 years and its going very well. Also I reckon...

    Spot the difference - PowerBook G3 292mhz & 350mhz cpus.

Spot the difference! I recently bought this PowerBook G3 Wallstreet - very specific purchase because I had Sonnet 500mhz G3 card to go for it, it does not work in PowerBook G3 PDQ. This is PowerBook G3 Wallstreet CPU, one is stock 292mhz and other one is 350mhz appears to be overclocked...

    PowerBook G3 CPU swaps..?

No it wont work - its completely different. Pismo uses similar slot as G4 towers. Neither - Wallstreet and PDQ - you cant put those CPUs in either those. Cheers A
