Funny to get excited about a little knob, but those clear ones look great!

I took a peek at the model you just linked. Let’s call it the jonschwenn model. It definitely looks to have been designed with FDM printing in mind. However, I see a few issues when I pulled it into TinkerCAD alongside yours. . . The PCB mounting holes would need to be adjusted as you...

BlueSCSI V2 access LED affected by DaynaPort

OK, here we go: This works a treat! All I did was solder a splitter on the LED wires and added a tiny speaker/buzzer. I will 3D print a little mounting clip with an adjustable mute. Perfect.

That‘s excellent. Thanks for sharing those photos. . . Wow that clear resin version looks really nice. I know you commented on it having a little texture, but this looks way better than mine will look. You can see the PCB right against the “window”. I am printing my bracket now using your...

BlueSCSI V2 access LED affected by DaynaPort

Well, heck, that‘s not bad at all! By the time the case is all buttoned up, that would sound like a lot of drives I have heard over the years. Thanks for sharing that!

Does it click? Squeak? I saw this video: Like that?

BlueSCSI V2 access LED affected by DaynaPort

Hey @croissantking , sorry to dig up this old thread, but I was wondering how your piezo buzzer/speaker sounds. I know it’s not a relay “drum” like I have seen written up a while back, or the little board with the microcontroller for a clicker of a clicker, but you can’t beat the simplicity...

@wottle How well does the back panel fit over your crystal clear BlueSCSI2 mounting bracket? I am comparing the amount it protrudes into the expansion port area and it is almost double the version I have installed in my SE/30 today which sits flush. I have not assembled my MacEffects case yet...

Thanks for the follow up. That’s the kind of hands-on report I needed. I am going to take a look at the model now to see if the holes are good for my threaded inserts and maybe add the four screw holder holes that PotatoFi has on his model. This is just a really convenient place to store the HDD...

Yeah, I get that. I don’t have any other expansion add-ons or riser cards and such. There was a time I was hoping to find an ethernet adapter (we all were, right?) but now there’s no need. There was PiSCSI, but with the BlueSCSI2‘s wifi I am set. I don’t plan to invest in acceleration or rare...

Hey, nice! Yeah, supports in there won’t matter at all. I will say that the only reason I designed it in two parts was to avoid dealing with the supports, but that looks just fine. You’ll have to trim off the brim, but I bet both will work great! For my project, I am awaiting my BlueSCSI 2...

My SE/30 has a Noctua fan installed a few years ago when I was restoring it after watching one of @JDW ’s. videos. Thanks for that BTW! I could post a comment, but nice to thank you in person so to speak. In my case (pun intended), I think I will consider the fan one of the parts to look at...

I used to think that same thing. I got my printer as a kit to learn and to print parts for an art installation idea I had. I have never use it to print knick-knacks (although people must because you see those models on the homepages constantly). In reality, some of the first things you print are...

A lot of novice/expert options could be improved on these service sites by having a better UI/UX. I see there are the ”?” icons we would call “tool tips” that popup an explainer bubble, but it could be a lot better. Something like “this option controls the xyz of the pdq” and give a better...

Slicer software that prepares a model for printing will have hundreds--literally--of settings to deal with. These programs usually have ways to reduce how much they overwhelm the user by having a beginner mode, advanced, expert, to keep some of the less-used stuff out of view unless you really...
