MicroMac Technology MMXL99 SE-PL-CL Universal Accelerator Drivers?

Did you find one to purchase, or are you going to build your own? Last I heard there is not a known source for the clip that clips over the 68000 on the Classic, it is a newer package type than the 68000 used in the Plus.

I received a microscope for Christmas and opened up my battery bombed IIci to try it out.

Eek yeah, definitely fixable but it will be tedious. How are you going to approach the diode repair, are you going to glue the parts in place and then bodge from there?

I received a microscope for Christmas and opened up my battery bombed IIci to try it out.

Is that the worst damage on the board? Are the diode pads still there, or did they come off entirely?

My IIsi Power Supply is dying. Possible to fix?

I had a IIsi PSU I recapped, it had a fair bit of corrosion that I left alone when I did the recap. It worked for a while, then just shut off mid-use and wouldn't stay running after that. I took it back apart, scraped a bunch of corrosion and added solder to the bare copper. It looks a lot...

    Corroded legs on IIsi CPU

I ultimately wrote this board off and repaired another IIsi board I had. I did a bunch of work to this one and could never get rid of the death chime. I replaced the onboard RAM with known good chips, replaced all the ALS245s, beeped out all the traces going to/from the RAM and ALS245s. A...

SCSI emulator for Mac Plus with '030 accelerator?

My BlueSCSI v2 works great, for some reason the accelerated Plus just does not like my v1.1. I used the same SD card in both just to rule out card incompatibility.

My Macintosh Iici with 50 MHz 030 card

@MrPickles2169, do you have a Floppy EMU? @JDW is having trouble with his accelerated IIci (DayStar accelerator) not being able to read 400k or 800k floppies or images using his Floppy EMU. I am curious if it is a problem with accelerated IIci's in general, or unique to his machine/accelerator.

My Macintosh Iici with 50 MHz 030 card

A few months back I picked up a DayStar PowerCache 50mhz card for $250, plus $25 for the Mac II adapter the guy had. Granted it is not a Diimo, but it's a data point. I don't know if the Diimo cards are more desirable. You could also check eBay sold auctions.

    Overlocked Turbo040 in Macintosh IIci, 400K & 800K floppies don't work

In both my accelerated Plus and accelerated SE my FloppyEMU will not work in HD20 mode, I get the same "READ STATE CHANGED" error. From what I have read the FloppyEMU does not work well with accelerated Macs.

    Color Classic CUDA interchangeability?

I have a CC that I suspect has a bad CUDA chip. I found the list below of CUDA variations from an old post. Does anyone know if any of these are compatible with the CC? It appears the CC is the only machine that uses the 341S0417. From what I can find online 341S0788 seems to be used in...

SCSI emulator for Mac Plus with '030 accelerator?

    Thanks, I'll try those suggestions.

SCSI emulator for Mac Plus with '030 accelerator?

Unfortunately the only external SCSI drive I have is the BlueSCSI, all my spinning platter drives are internal, and I don't have any sort of adapter or enclosure to adapt the 50 pin dive to the DB25 port on the Plus. That's good to know about the SCSI2SD and potential ZuluSCSI working with...

SCSI emulator for Mac Plus with '030 accelerator?

I recently installed my Performer clone accelerator into my Plus and have found it seems to be incompatible with my BlueSCSI v1.1. Does anyone know if there are any SCSI emulators that work with an accelerated Plus? I know the Plus's SCSI implementation is a bit non-standard so they have...

Mac 512ke HyperDrive 20 project complete

It's always interesting to hear people's real-world stories about these old machines.

WarpSE: 25 MHz 68HC000-based accelerator for Mac SE

Another alternative until the WarpSE is completed is a MicroMac Performer clone. If you are into tinkering it's a fun project, I did a write-up (link) to my build.

PowerCache Card in IIci -- Why So Slow?

Unfortunately I don't have a pic of the accelerator compared to stock, and somehow my Speedometer records file became corrupted, so I don't have easy access to that info without re-running the tests. The increase was significant though. The pic below is from an accelerator benchmark thread on...

Mac IIsi death chime after home curcuit breaker trips

Well I spoke too soon, shortly after that May 2nd post the machine began the death chime again and would not boot. I put it on the back burner since I did not have time to work on it. I decided to work on it some more recently, I replaced the ALS245 chips with new chips from DigiKey, there is...

    Mac Plus/SE Performer accelerator build

Thank you James! Correct on the solder paste. I ran a bead along the pads, set the chip in place, and used hot air. After using hot air it looked like there was a bit of un-melted solder paste behind the legs, that is why I followed up on each leg with my iron. That seemed to pull the...

    Mac Plus/SE Performer accelerator build

I just finished my build of a Performer accelerator clone for the Mac Plus/SE. Enormous thanks to @Bolle , he reverse-engineered an original accelerator and posted the board file online, along with the GAL files. Thanks to DrGonzo, his thread on 68kMLA about his Performer build inspired me to do...

Mac 512ke HyperDrive 20 project complete

A couple years ago I bought a 512k with a non-working HyperDrive 20 internal HD. On first inspection it was obvious a component on the MiniScribe 8425 controller board had failed and damaged the board. I found a replacement drive, sold as working, but the new drive also showed no signs of...
