Thanks to @jcm-1 for his assembled BlueSCSI complete with LED. Massive performance increase on my SE/30. The Speedometer 3 scores for the Internal and External BlueSCSI on are the left side of the screenshots compared with the SCSI2SD.

Here's an example: On my Mac SE with a 16Mhz 68000 SpeedCard it takes 8 seconds to search for a term across the entire Bible. So about 16 - 20 seconds on a non-accelerated SE or Plus

Thanks to @JDW and his excellent video on recapping the Mac SE & SE/30 power supply. My recap passed the smoke test and I was able to successfully adjust the voltage.

Thanks. yeah, I was impressed how well it works under the resource constraints of the SE and System 6. The database contains 783,137 words so it is pretty amazing that a full text wild card search completes in a reasonable amount of time.

My two cents. Reducing complexity sounds better than endlessly engineering for edge cases.

@JDW and @retr01 - Great points about the reason an SE has value. I completely agree. I would add to that the SE is far less complicated and therefore more robust and resistant to the effects of aging. I love my SE/30, but it's more complex with a denser board and many surface mount caps...

@Zane Kaminski I agree JDW. As a fellow SpeedCard user I can't wait to see the 68000 come pretty close to SE/30 speeds, which was the Nirvana back in the day for the SE.
