    Lisa Model I.D.

Thank you Reed, that's great info and advice. I have, indeed, already removed all my boards. My motherboard was so trashed by the corrosion, I had to drill many of the mounting screws out. Yes, when I first -gently- washed mine, a resistor fell off just like yours. I have determined the...

    7100 L2 Cache SIMM

Hey gang, I need help understanding what the L2 Cache chip actually is. It clearly uses the same form factor as the ROM, but how do I identify one for purchase? I'm not even sure the maximum size allowable either. I've seen 256K and 4MB. I also don't know how to distinguish one from a ROM...

    7100 72 pin RAM

Okay, Thanks to your help, I ordered 4 32MB SIMMS! NOW I need help on identifying the 256K VRAM chips to expand my Apple PDS video card to 2MB. I cannot find the specs for these chips. Can anyone ID them for me? I am also interested in identifying the L2 Cache chip. I don't know what size I...

    Lisa Model I.D.

YES! There are reversed engineered Lisa boards available to build. You have to populate them with all the components. It sounds like quite a few are still available, but some connectors and chips need to be pulled from the donor boards. Here's the link: https://github.com/alexthecat123/Lisa-PCBs

    Lisa Model I.D.

Ried, Thank you-that helps a lot. I do have an EXT. Parallel port, so mine must be a Lisa 2/5. There was no widget in the internal bay when I received it. I wondered if it had been pulled. It sounds like it never had one. I'm sending a closeup of my J13 Parallel port on the motherboard. This is...

    Mac IIcx vs. IIci PSU

BTW: I found this an hour ago-these books are extremely helpful, for those who have not seen them. Apple Service Source Manuals. I have a few of these for other Apple devices. PDF link for the 7100: https://www.applerepairmanuals.com/the_manuals_are_in_here/Power_Macintosh_7100_Series.pdf

    Mac IIcx vs. IIci PSU

Thank you for your feedback! I was working with an untested logic board and monitor so I had no idea where to start. A few moments ago I perused the bombed board and realized I had NOT PULLED THE ROM OFF IT~UGH!! I pulled the ROM, installed it into the "new" board: CHIME! VIDEO! SYSTEM 7.5...

    7100 72 pin RAM

Hey gang, I lost one of my 72 pin SIMMs due to a battery that bombed in my 7100/66. I need to get new chips as I only had 2 to begin with. Mac Tracker says it uses 80ns 72 pin SIMMs with no interleave. When I search online I see specs like EDO and non-parity. What flavor of 72 pin SIMMs do...

    Mac IIcx vs. IIci PSU

That's weird, I thought I replied to this-SORRY! You are correct-I have a 7100! My buddy gave me this Mac years ago & I thought it was a 7200. Thank you! The Delta is back in the 7100 & the HDD spins, no chime. No picture on tin Apple 13" RGB. I don't have any RAM in the 4 slots. The board...

    Lisa Model I.D.

Hey gang, I recently acquired a battery bombed Lisa 2. I have spoken with the original owner and he says it was always a 2 and not a converted 1-he can't remember much else. What can I look for in my computer to help me I.D. what the exact model it is (ie: 2/5, 2/10. Mac XL)? Thanks in...
