    [Help] Macintosh Plus CRT Issues

@JDW has fantastic videos for recapping, but also covers reflowing the solder on the connectors most likely to have cold solder joints: Make sure you also watch the part about discharging the CRT before working on anything. Here: 1:04 I think some Mac Plus machines had bleeder resistors, but...

    BlueSCSI v2 - DaynaPORT WiFi!

I think this is a pretty petty feature request, but I'll put it out there and maybe there's other options people can suggest. I use Basilisk II primarily to load software onto my images. It works fantastically, allowing me to install the version of the OS I want plus almost any software I need...

Massive (filthy) find in South Carolina

Another update on the restoration. I received my BlueSCSI v2 boards from JLCPCB and they look great, with one problem. Apparently I did something wrong when I tried to use a mix of my parts and their parts (the LEDs and the JST connector were out of stock, so I ordered some. I must have...

Massive (filthy) find in South Carolina

That's awesome information. I'll be looking at the board to see what I can manage to rescue. I'll do some digging on the 610 and see what there would make sense to pull from the board. It does make sense that the non-FPU, 35MHz CPUs probably aren't really sought after. I have a 68LC040 in my...

Massive (filthy) find in South Carolina

Yeah, I did go through the pizza boxes as well. They faired as poorly as the Centris/Quadra 6x0s I definitely plan to do what I can to salvage components. If anyone has a good source for the proprietary / no longer available chips so I can do my best to salvage anything worth taking a chance...

Need solution for HDI-45 to DB-15 connectors for video out

As I said, I think any concern here would be addressed with the case. It’s much easier to build multiple 3d printed options to increase / optimize surface areas for adherence to the case. Obviously, I’m not going to stop you from designing one with a horizontal connector, I just think there...

Massive (filthy) find in South Carolina

Another update on my progress. I've still got some case cleaning to do on the 6100s, but I've gone down a detour as I really want these to be usable for their future owners and I did not get any HDI-45 adapters for getting video out to a modern monitor. This has lead me to try my hand at PCB...

Apple Lisa Mouse A9M0050 - Replacement Shell

I do like the hybrid version with the twiggy version of the Lisa badging. Unfortunately, not enough to justify the cost. To be fair, I think the cost is justified, I'm sure a lot went into the design and manufacturing... I am hoping that 3d printing on demand eventually gets good enough...

Need solution for HDI-45 to DB-15 connectors for video out

It looks like in the 6100 picture that the bottom section by the HDI-45 port is not centered on the connector. If you center it, it looks like it will overlap, or be very close to the screw hole that I need to use for securing the DOS car adapter bracket. With the hope of 3d printing a case...

Apple Lisa Mouse A9M0050 - Replacement Shell

For the 3 pieces in their black resin, it was ~ $11 USD For transparent, it was ~ $14 Shipping and tax for all 6 pieces was $13 So $38 for all 6 delivered to South Carolina.

Apple Lisa Mouse A9M0050 - Replacement Shell

Yeah, maybe it was something in the checkout, but I ordered the mouse case in transparent last week. This week, it is not showing up. Translucent is the only option. :(

Need solution for HDI-45 to DB-15 connectors for video out

Decided to only notch in the one side, as it gives more room for double sided tape, and also gives me enough bare PCB to punch another hole for mounting the case. Also added some white circles around the minimum pins that need to be connected to have it work and not allow for plugging in wrong...

Need solution for HDI-45 to DB-15 connectors for video out

Appreciate the clarification. I always have used DB-15 vs DA-15 as what I thought was a technically incorrect but accepted usage. Good luck finding a DA-15 cable searching google. But I will be sure to use the proper connector identifier from here on out. Ah, you are correct. I need to...

Need solution for HDI-45 to DB-15 connectors for video out

If you have the chance, can you get a measurement from the farthest left pins of the HDI-45 connector, to where the fan fin bump outs start? My current VGA design extends 14mm left of the leftmost pins. Wondering if the will be enough. The other option that might alleviate the need for all of...

Massive (filthy) find in South Carolina

OK, I tested it out. Not sure how anyone got a Houdini II card to fit with the lid closed. I suspect they removed the card guides on the underside of the lid, as on mine, the little slot that I believe was there to help stabilize longer boards hits the board and the lid will not come close to...

Apple Lisa Mouse A9M0050 - Replacement Shell

Yeah, unfortunately, my filament printer can't come anywhere near the quality of a resin print, and I don't really want to purchase one and deal with all the chemicals and processing. Also, when I can get one printed in resin for ~$20, it doesn't even make sense for me to buy a resin printer at...

Massive (filthy) find in South Carolina

Ah, sadly no, just a footnote in this post. Used the same paint as the G3 all-in-one. I've not done a great job documenting because I'm a bit overwhelmed with projects at the moment. Spending lots of time trying to build a video out solution for the 6100s so their new owners don't have to...

Apple Lisa Mouse A9M0050 - Replacement Shell

In case anyone else is looking to do this, note that not all M0100 mice will work. Of the 5 M0100 mice I had, only one had compatible insides. First, it must be the version with 2 screws by the cable. I have one M0100 mouse that looks to be a rebadges Apple IIc mouse with a single screw on...
