Unfortunately it's not quite that simple. The LC PSU is 0.75 amps at 12 volts and 3.75 amps at 5 volts (with a tiny -5v supply for Serial or someting). Not really a lot of power going on here. IIci and similar have more along the lines of 12 amps output at 5 volts. Q900 has something absurd...

OS version is not likely to make a difference. This sounds like a hardware problem, the Ethernet port has a bad connection like you mention or maybe something's wrong with the driver chipset.

@eric The links to capacitors C201 and C302 don't seem to be working. There appears to be a tinkerdifferent URL prefix (before the actual mouser link) which is likely the culprit. And I'm pretty sure C201 is 1200uF, not 12000. :)

As far as I know, the flash is additive but the DRAM actually takes precedence over the original system RAM. This could be because the card has a 32 bit memory bus and the RAM on the motherboard is only 16 bits wide. Could be wrong, it's kind of unclear. As per the usual hackery, I'm working...
