    Floppy Transit Protector

Unfortunately I don't have calipers to measure, and there's a rim blocking the edge, but here are some pics to compare. The head area is noticeably thinner, being more translucent than the rest of the plastic.

    M0110A repair

If you can manage it, desolder the caps that don't work, then gently open them by prying open the bottom base. You should be able to take them apart. Apply a cleaner like DeOxit or just gently clean the metal contact directly. Then put back together! Barring that, spraying some WD-40 directly...

Breaking the 36MB RAM limit on the LCIII

As I commented on MLA, this is very exciting! Frankly, I would accept a special cable that connects one end to the board and the other to a loose RAM slot... :D

Mac Plus floppy drive not happy

    I stand corrected!

Looking for flex cables to recreate

The PB500 floppy cable comes to mind... And I know one other person and myself have damaged the flat flexes in the AppleCD 600...

Mac Plus floppy drive not happy

If you mean the MacEffects gears, they are not 3D printed I don't believe, and they're certainly not NOS. I don't recall the manufacturing process for them and currently the page is not listed since they're out of stock.

Identifying and confirming fake 68040 CPUs (especially the L88M mask)

That's what I was thinking! System Info is great.

Identifying and confirming fake 68040 CPUs (especially the L88M mask)

At least determining whether they have an FPU or not is reasonably simple.

Mac Plus floppy drive not happy

MacEffects also sells purportedly higher quality ones; I bought a pack recently but haven't tested them yet... 😵

    Brainstorm Clone?

I would personally be very interested in a newly-made Brainstorm for my Plus!

What Beige Apple ADB keyboards/mice am I missing?

There's a version of the Apple Extended Keyboard II that has a flat power key, rather than the trapezoidal one that you have, but that's minor. There is also the Music Publisher Keypad if you want something obscure (meant specifically for use with the Music Publisher software).

    GeeThree PS/2 to ADB Adapter

On a lark, I decided to try ordering one of GeeThree's PS/2 to ADB mouse adapters from their old website. Despite appearing more or less inactive, and the website itself being a bit janky, I was able to get an order through and, wouldn't you know it, my order arrived today! If I had to guess...

Thanks for thoroughly breaking it down!

Mac Plus with a "flup flup flup" noise on boot

I have an analogue board that was also flupping following a blown transistor. Even after replacing many components it still flupped (later turned to chirping after replacing a diode I believe it was). Unfortunately that particular board's harness doesn't have a fuse!

WarpSE: 25 MHz 68HC000-based accelerator for Mac SE

The 030 and the 000 aren't pin compatible, and they have different instruction sets, so I don't think swapping them would be a simple endeavor.

Logic Board - Macintosh Classic Reloaded

Forgive my naïvité, but can you not just remove them and measure their inductance?

Apple TechStep Replacement ROMs, cartridges, software, and more!

I don't suppose there will ever be a way to purchase a kit to make one's own TechStep instead of trying to find an old one?

    Too many categories

Hmm, I'm not sure. On the one hand, I'm organizational by nature, and like having the specific categories. But on the other hand, it may be possible to reduce the number of categories by combining and reorganizing the ones that are here, rather than simply removing them. They're useful I'm sure...

    Too many categories

I personally would prefer a smaller community, with high-quality content, over a larger one with a lot of noise. (Just a general observation; not pointing fingers at any other specific forums (truly)).
