Yeah. PcBWay was much more expensive BEFORE the tariffs. Give JLC3DP a try. My guess is it will be 1/2 to 1/4 of the PCBWay cost.

Yeah, @tom_B has a much better understanding of the process than me. But much like I fumbled my way through the PCB design process, I stumbled my way through the full color PCB process. I only did it because JLCPCB had a coupon that made it almost free to do, so I read a guide, and used...

I may be going overboard with this clear stuff. I made an updated version of this mount that I'm going to order in clear resin as well. Not really much value in doing a group buy on this one because I can only order one at a time and still get the cheaper shipping. If you wanted to do the...

OK, I'll post here an update when the sample pair arrive. If they work, I'll place an order for a handful more for people who are interested. I just didn't want to order a bunch in case there were fitment issues.

Yes, I've used the 8001 with the transparent oil spray finish. I've had some very good parts, and some that were not nearly as good. I think if you want the highest quality, I'd go with PCBWay, but they are significantly more expensive (5-10x).

Apple IIe Card won't boot ProDOS

This is a bit of a carry-over from my other IIe card post. I picked up a IIe card from eBay several months back. It was listed as working. I installed it in my Mystic Color Classic, and while the card was recognized and I can boot the IIe, no matter what I tried, I could not get it to run the...

I highly recommend trying clear resin prints if you want to match the clear MacEffects case. I printed the mouse in my photos using JLC3DP. It’s not perfect, but it will be better than anything you can product using a filament printer. By a lot. I’ve printed clear cases for my HDI-45...

Would people be interested in a group buy (at cost) for clear resin version of these adjustment knobs? it looks like I could get them for around $3 each if I ordered 10. I have a combined model that should print OK in resin. I'm going to print a couple out and see if they fit ok in the...

It's a Design68 keyboard. This one is a bit modified from the original design to use a slightly different variant of the case. I go into the details in this post: https://tinkerdifferent.com/threads/design68-a-65-replacement-keyboard-using-appledesign-controllers.2952/post-36774 But, I would...

So, I ended up making my own. I found a clear sheathed S-video cable, but it was too thick for use with the design68 keyboard. I found some clear cables on aliexpress that worked for both the mouse and the keyboard. I then used some s-video mini-DIN 4 pin connectors for the other ends of the...

Design68: A 65% replacement keyboard using AppleDesign controllers

I realized I never posted the cables I ende4d up using. For the mouse, I used thinner wires and only a 4 wire bundle (I assume the lack of the 5th wire is because the mouse can't do daisy chaining?). But I ordered the cables from here...

Let me know if you are looking for a case. I have an extra SE case and an extra logic board if you need. I assume you have the inside metal frame?

I received my MacEffects case yesterday. I'm so glad they did another run of the clear because I always loved the look but missed out on previous sales. I've had an SE/30 with a reloaded board I've been keeping around with the intention of putting it in a clear case if I ever got the...

Apple IIe card - oscillator damage

Unfortunately, the purchase was long enough ago that I don't think I have any recourse. And the seller may have done just enough testing to see that it booted into something, but not tried to boot from a ProDOS disk. Yeah, if there were schematics, I probably would give it a shot myself, but...

Apple IIe card - oscillator damage

So, the aliexpress package got here today. The part was labelled as 17.234000 MHz, but no markings on voltage. The seller did confirm I wanted a 5v oscillator, so I was hopeful that was the case. I soldered it in, making sure the ground pin matched the ground through-hole on the board, and...

Apple IIe card - oscillator damage

So I received the board and it was pretty rough. One pad ripped off (I think it was already detached before I started cleanup. The larger oscillator had two pins that remained in the board when I removed it, so it is not salvageable. The smaller one also left one of its legs on the board...

    Mac SE/30 bad condition

That was me. Here's the details of the machine. https://www.inventorydifferent.com/#!/devices/307 I just shipped one recently and it cost about $50 for the shipping + packing materials, double boxed. Of course, if you're close to Charlotte, NC, you could come pick up to save on shipping...

    Managing your collections

I was able to add it through TestFlight from the link you sent above. Just a couple of quick notes from using it very briefly: I was confused by having to go to the settings page to search for a device to pre-fill it on the Add device page. A search of template selection on the add device...

Apple IIe card - oscillator damage

I forgot to ask. Is there an easy way for me to test this when it arrives before installing? Can I send 5v through it and see the frequency on an oscilloscope?

Apple IIe card - oscillator damage

Yeah, the card is on its way to me. I got caps and the Y1 on the way from DigiKey. I was able to find what appeared to be a reputable seller who responded when I asked about custom frequency. He even followed up to confirm 5V, which I appreciated. After I get the card and remove the caps...
