Possibility of complete redesign and modern manufacture of LC-LC475 power supplies

Designs for these have been released here (Creative Commons Non-Commercial) : https://github.com/androda/PCBDesigns/tree/main/PowerSupplies They are currently badly documented because it's been so long since I looked at them. Both designs worked in both of the LCs I tested, LC II and III. The...

    BlueSCSI DB25 compatibility issues?

I believe the G3's standard internal hard drive and Zip drives are IDE, but the CDROM is SCSI. Yeah, this seems pretty odd in general. Given that it works on the 630 with and without an internal drive, I wonder if that internal CDROM on the g3 is SCSI but somehow termination is incorrect.

    BlueSCSI DB25 compatibility issues?

This is quite odd what you mention about the beige g3. That's my test system, and every assembled BlueSCSI I sell is checked on that machine. On the 630, does the DB25 unit work with and without the internal drive installed? Is there an internal drive installed in the beige g3? As for...

    BlueSCSI v2 on PB170

I am very curious what has been posted about the quality and safety of BlueSCSI. Don't keep up on or track every thread. But that user is correct, BlueSCSI V2 comes with a protection fuse such that if there's a hardware fault in either your Mac or on the BlueSCSI then it'll cut itself off from...

    Tunnel vision on PB170

I guess it depends on how common those other cables are, and how easily the connectors can be moved. Regardless of where the connectors come from, they have to be identical to the originals.

    Tunnel vision on PB170

Sorry for lack of response. For flex cables like these that have SMD connectors, it's a harder process. Need to identify identical replacements, as moving from old to new cable would be dicey.

For What Do You Think The Classic II ROM Expansion Was Intended?

The Mac Portable has a ROM slot, and many Macs come with ROM SIMM sockets. The Mac Portable one was used for a backlit screen upgrade (rather a far cry from "ROM"). ROM sockets for SIMMs were probably left over as remnants from debugging with burnable prototype SIMMs, or for possible bug fixes...

BlueSCSI v2 Pico - Low cost, open hardware, fast SCSI device!

I don't think "over voltage" has ever been a concern with BlueSCSI? It sounds like you're asking about whether we are using buffer and transceiver chips instead of directly hooking up to the microcontroller pins. All BlueSCSI V2 hardware uses buffer and transceiver chips, like my F4 and F4Lite...

BlueSCSI (internal) not working when external RaSCSI is connected

It kind of sounds like a termination issue, because the issue happens unless it doesn't. Termination is finicky that way. I'm guessing you have already tried with termination disabled on the PiSCSI/RaSCSI? I don't have a PiSCSI/RaSCSI to test with, so won't be a lot of help knowing what's...

    M5126 Portable with sound problem

These are all the codes I saw in the video, just to get them down in text: 0000 0001 | 0000 FFFF 0103 097C | 0E7C 24DC 0300 1583 | 0000 1FFA As per the Sad Mac Reference (under the Macintosh Portable section): The first code 1 / FFFF means the ROM test failed. This is some sort of ROM...

    M5126 Portable with sound problem

Could you post the sad mac code numbers? I know you mentioned they're different most of the time, but those sad mac codes hold valuable information on why the system doesn't always boot. It sounds like there are damaged traces around the board, or a chip that's unhappy, or something's up with...

Hello all, I would also like to submit for community consideration to join the Tinker Different Board of Directors. Recreating Macintosh Portable Hybrid Module

The listing is now public: https://androda.work/product/macintosh-portable-hybrid-module-recreation/ Despite the listing being open, I don't suggest that anyone should rush and buy one. First, run through the pre-check steps mentioned before to see if your portable has any motherboard damage...
