Anyone remember the OJ Simpson chase animation on older Macs?

As mentioned in my previous post here, AD4 didn’t work for me in Basilisk II in terms of getting that OJ module to work, although all the stock modules did work fine.

    Period-accurate benchmarking tools?

I don’t have the software open in front of me but I’ve used it enough to remember. In one of the menus on the right side, there’s a command that lets you remove any Mac displayed in the results. I always use that menu to remove the bothersome PM6100 results.

    LC575 computer killed LC520 motherboard! 😭

Whatever killed my LC520 motherboard didn't harm the Apple-branded 320MB spinning platter drive (Quantum LPS340S, which originally came with the LC575 and was connected at the time I tested the LC520 board). I put that HDD inside a PowerMac 9600 this evening and it booted the machine right away...

    LC575 computer killed LC520 motherboard! 😭

I sadly didn’t re-test the LC520 motherboard inside my CC Mystic immediately prior to testing that motherboard in the 575 chassis, but I did test the 520 board many, many times after my recap inside the CC Mystic and it worked perfectly every since time. The last test of it inside the CC was a...

    LC575 computer killed LC520 motherboard! 😭

I put my multimeter into continuity check (beeper) mode and put the probes across each polymer tantalum capacitor. No continuous beep, which means they are not shorted. Then on the solder side, I checked the factory solid tantalums. No long beeps on any of those capacitors either. Separately...

    LC575 computer killed LC520 motherboard! 😭

When I tested my LC520 motherboard inside the LC575 body, I had my external BlueSCSI v1 attached, but its LEDs never lit up. I tested that BlueSCSI just now with my LC 575 motherboard inside my CC Mystic and the blueSCSI lights normally and it’s drives mount on the Desktop just fine, so it...

    LC575 computer killed LC520 motherboard! 😭

The LC520 motherboard was recapped by me using these Polymer Tantalum capacitors.

Anyone remember the OJ Simpson chase animation on older Macs?

I just installed After Dark 3.0b. OJ's Bronco 1.0.3 is still not working at all for me in Basilisk II, sadly.

    LC575 computer killed LC520 motherboard! 😭

Folks, I thought we could use the LC520 motherboard inside an LC575 computer body, but apparently not. My LC520 board is now dead! Some of you may recall my LC520 recapping video, and my 84V VGA Mod video. As you could see, I had a working LC520 board even prior to the recap, and it worked...

Anyone remember the OJ Simpson chase animation on older Macs?

I confirmed it doesn't work in System 7.5.5 with AfterDark 4... And it refuses to run in AfterDark 2.x as well... How about version 1.1c of After Dark, you ask? Well, that too doesn't work, at least not under System 7.5.5... Can someone provide me with the exact download URL of the...

Anyone remember the OJ Simpson chase animation on older Macs?

Hilarious. I just Googled it and found this very thread... Just goes to show how awesome this forum is (not the Discord though because it's not indexed by Google). The search continues!

    Tucows Mac Software Collection

"Tucows" links in the opening post are no question dead for me as of today. Later links refer to "info-Mac" and appear to be working, but those are two different things, right? If different, then the Tucows archive is lost, unless @eric snagged it back in 2022. But is there any thing in the...

Official Tinker Different Poll: Board Size Reduction

To supplement what @Kai Robinson just said, I'd like to add that I've lived in Japan since 1994, and I can tell you the single word that describes Japanese culture is this: RULES. It's all about spoken and unspoken rules, regulations, laws and a complex organizational structure that keeps...

    3D Printing & MacEffects Appreciation

Looks like a PLA print will now work at JLC3DP, and at a low price too! Many thanks for your time and effort spent on the modification, @caver01 !

    3D Printing & MacEffects Appreciation

The difficulty in clicking my MacEffects clear mouse shell is why I stopped using the shell. Your fix might allow me to use it once again, but JLC3DP refuses to print anything so small, unfortunately. A dab of hot glue may work. I'll need to experiment. As I recall, this problem arose from...

Advice wanted: epoxy replacement on flyback

What are your thoughts on what Larry Pina says on page 96 below regarding "ringing noise" caused by broken epoxy seals? https://archive.org/details/mac_Macintosh_Repair_Upgrade_Secrets_1990/page/n112/mode/1up I was talking about that way back in 2008 here. I've also been told by others that...

Official Tinker Different Poll: Board Size Reduction

I have always sought to play that role as an Admin. I have contributed thoughts and ideas to the Board whenever appropriate since the day of our founding. Yet, I am not elected to the Board itself. I feel that all Admins really do have the obligation, not simply myself alone. I think it is...

Official Tinker Different Poll: Board Size Reduction

Just curious, so please forgive me, but what is an "IRL association"? All disagreement is welcome and is a part of the voting process. You make some valid points. But while I am not on the board, nor have I ever served on it to know precisely what the reasons are prompting this change...
