    Compact Mac Video Adapter

It's from a book called Macintosh Repair & Upgrade Secrets It's from the Macintosh Repair & Upgrade Secrets book by Larry Pina. I just posted it up in the resources: https://tinkerdifferent.com/resources/macintosh-repair-upgrade-secrets-for-models-128k-to-macintosh-se.42/

Macintosh Repair & Upgrade Secrets For Models 128K to Macintosh SE

Another great repair book by Larry Pina for the Macintosh 128K to SE. Also include schematic for a compact Mac to TTL monitor adapter. Also has the bom for the analog boards.

WarpSE: 25 MHz 68HC000-based accelerator for Mac SE

Just curious but on your power board I noticed you use two XOR chips and separate the RGB signals VS just connect the RGB pins all together like on t http://www.waveguide.se/?article=compact-mac-video-adapter I was wondering what the logic behind the design is?

WarpSE: 25 MHz 68HC000-based accelerator for Mac SE

Oh that picture of the SE video signal is gold! Yeah it's exactly what has been mentioned but never see a picture. Just to be clear for people, here's what normal VGA hsync with video signal should look like.

Glad to hear that the XC68HC711E9 wasn't protected. Got worried for a bit there.

    Compact Mac Video Adapter

Don't think anyone has attempted anything yet with the pico pi. There are at least a couple sdks for doing video out on the pico: http://www.breatharian.eu/hw/picovga/index_en.html https://picockpit.com/raspberry-pi/raspberry-pi-pico-video-output/ Ideally we would want 1024 x 768 output so we...

    Compact Mac Video Adapter

Sorry I wasn't clear enough. This discussion was to make the cheapest purpose built converter to just output video from a compact Macintosh which is 512 x 384 and 1bit. Using the analogy of slicing bread, sure you can use an expensive Swiss Army Swiss Champ XXL (RGB2HDMI) with a bunch of extra...

    Quadra 950 CD Audio Cable?

Just to make sure, you did removed the 2 jumpers from the connector you showed right?

WarpSE: 25 MHz 68HC000-based accelerator for Mac SE

Yeah those adapters are basically a breakout boards like Zane already has on his board. All Zane is missing the inverter. @Stephen already took the time to take apart the Plus version of the Power R inc adapter which is essentially the same thing as the SE one with different connectors...

    Compact Mac Video Adapter

Here's a conversation with Zane about using a Pico Pi to convert the video signal from a compact Macintosh (128K, 512K, SE, SE/30, Classic, Classic II) to something more usable by modern screens. Maybe this will give some inspiration to someone. alxlab-zone66x — 02/07/2022 Was contemplating the...

What's the link to the digikey page? I did a search for the part number FCN-215Q040-G/0 but it didn't find anything useful.

    HP EliteBook 8740w GPU Upgrade

I think the the real problem with the laptop is if you run something that uses both the CPU and GPU to the max the system will throttle due to heat. I got a i7 940xm and that thing runs hot, like 99C hot, just just streaming videos. I don't really play any modern games so the laptop is good...

    HP EliteBook 8740w GPU Upgrade

Glad it helped! Yeah I didn't mention a specific bios because I don't know which bios' will work. I have no clue what bios Eurocom uses for their cards. My K5000M was a HP card and had a HP bios. The GTX 970M I have was bought from China and the subvendor of the card is marked as HP. Not sure...

Bourns Again - Bourns 601 Series RC Network T-Filters Replacement

Yeah might as well use C0G since the price difference is negligible for low production runs. I just updated the github README to include better BOM info and a Manufactuing section mentioning the release files for are JLCPCB specifically and 1mm PCB thickness.

Bourns Again - Bourns 601 Series RC Network T-Filters Replacement

Yeah I really hate that too. I committed the sin by being in a rush to put the repo up and not specifying 😓 Actually I did choose the specific parts in the BOM and most manufacturers allow you to specify or supply the specific parts. For the JLCPCB BOM that I supplies, the part number is the...

Bourns Again - Bourns 601 Series RC Network T-Filters Replacement

Morning JDW, The release files (gerbers, bom, component placement, panelization) I added to the git repo were actually made for JLCPCB with EasyEDA. I should have been more explicit about that in my repo's README that it's Gear Towards JLCPCB. I did a quick look at the Kicad 5 settings...

Bourns Again - Bourns 601 Series RC Network T-Filters Replacement

Hey alasdairrr, That's actually normal for panelized PCBs. The gerbers don't actually duplicate the whole PCB but provide the instructions on how to duplicate a single PCB into a panel. Here's the past order that I did for 5 panels of 24 filters. As highlighted on the image, they do...
