Modern PDS Riser Card for SE/30

Sorry but a 68030 in a FPGA ain't happening. The "best" open core is a 68020 (TG68K.C) and it has only a 16 bit wide which won't work in a SE/30. 68030 would require a MMU (68851 or compatible core), which doesn't exist. To my knowledge no open FPU implementation exists either. I also agree...

Video card memory limit on G5s under Linux

It's not limited to GPUs and VRAM. It's related to PCI/AGP Bus or IOMMU. Logic board limitation that macOS has workaround for. Can't remember the detail exactly. You will have stability issues with PCI Cards, Ethernet and so on with 2 GB+ of RAM as well, same thing with FreeBSD. I think Quads...

    Macintosh connector part numbers

Does cables have a place in this thread ? PCL-10120-1E from Advantech works as a floppy cable replacement. Available from Mouser, Farnell and a few others. Useful to avoid dodgy cables from eBay. Also work for Floppy Emu

Reverse Engineering the Macintosh IIcx Logicboard

Awesome job ! Is the soldering mask on probing pads on purpose ?

    Macintosh connector part numbers

I just received them, but didn't use them for now. They look high quality, gold plated inside the pin sockets as well. They may be a little on the expensive side, but getting brand new manufactured 68030 sockets is kinda nice. Even if they are out of stock, Mouser will ask Aries to build them...

    SE-VGA

Nice, I've heard about this possibility but never managed to meet someone who did it. Good job ! Are you using an USB Blaster to program it ?

DuPAL - A dedicated toolset for reverse engineering PAL/HAL SPLD's

I build one of theses a while ago. It's not magical on complex PALs, like combinatorial ones with multiple feedbacks. But they do help. Registered ones are better reversed using the DuPAL_Peeper tool than brute forcing with the DuPAL_Analyzer Good stuff !

    'Weecee' custom Vortex86DX computer

Really nice project. I learned its existence from the LGR Video. Are Vortex modules interchangeables ? Could one build this nice thing with a faster SoM like a Vortex86DX2/3 for an early Win 2K/XP build ?

Quack: Bluetooth & ADB Mouse "Dongle" for the Macintosh 128/512/Plus or Apple Lisa

Don't worry I can't weld SMT to save my life either ;) I designed the board so the SMT parts could be assembled by your preferred PCB manufacturer. There is P&P and BOM files for JLCPCB on GitHub The hard part of this project is actually to flash the ESP32. I've a few assembled+flashed kits in...

Quack: Bluetooth & ADB Mouse "Dongle" for the Macintosh 128/512/Plus or Apple Lisa

Thanks ! Mouse only for now. Keyboard will need another PCB revision, because of the needed connectivity to the keyboard port. It's something low on the todo list, but I've switched to other projects for now. There is a nice tinkerBOY PS/2 to USB adapter if you need it (tindie link)

Please help - I think I just blew my SCSI chip on my SE/30

If it helps, Zilog is still producing 53C80 chips for less than 10 bucks. Sometimes you break theses old chips just by heating them. Avaible here and other locations. @trag also has a nice NoS part number IIRC Good luck on the transplant

Quack: Bluetooth & ADB Mouse "Dongle" for the Macintosh 128/512/Plus or Apple Lisa

Hello everyone, Told @Stephen I would post that here. This is the result of me being bored during the pandemic wanting to pair a Space Gray Magic Mouse with my 512ke (... which does look like a tiny CRT !) What is it It allow you to use the Magic Mouse with pre-ADB Macs (128/512/Plus). It has...

    My Cursed Quadra 840AV

Hope this helps: My 840av board is paired to an ATX or Quadra 650 PSU on a lab bench. It will not boot like yours if the -12V rail isn't there. Can't find where the -12V go in bomarc schematics however

Hello Stephen ! Thanks for your interest. Sure no problem, I will post it as soon as get feedback from testers. Need to test a patch that Espressif provided to me as well. Good job on the ROM-inator refresh by the way !
