    SMC ROM SIMM Prototype

Actually, it was about 5 years ago that the problem of thin PCB thickness appeared, and at that time it was caused by the fact that the thickness was about 1.17mm. Now PCB manufacturers can make 1.2mm, so BMOW and other SIMM cards are made at 1.2mm now 2022. This also means that the accuracy of...

SMC SE Analog board and Neck board Resurrections

The Rev.1.2 board has been completed. It looks like all the prototype work is done with this, so we are thinking of selling this. I have my own store so I don't open source it, I sell it reasonably in my store. Rev.1.2 improves: - Improvement of the GND part where the brightness pot is...

    SMC ROM SIMM Prototype

Tips: Only the SE/30 ROM socket is loose This is the most common complaint from people using 3rd party ROM SIMMs. The following points have been pointed out as to why this happens: - The thickness of the third-party SIMM card is slightly thin - The catch of the plastic lock tab is shallow The...

    SMC ROM SIMM Prototype

If you can split correctly, I think you can do it in any way! My method is not the only correct answer. My twitter friend gave me split.py script like this: I think you have a lot of split code. I usually program ROMs in Windows, so it was not a problem to switch to Windows in Step-4. And...

SE/30 Reloaded - Lets build it!

This is @eric 's post, so plz PM any questions, we dragged the topic little too far...lol I think he is good at PLCC soldering, so I don't think he needs information on soldering irons or advice on soldering. I think he will do well !

SE/30 Reloaded - Lets build it!

There is no magic like you think, no special technique is required:LOL: The important points are that the temperature of the soldering iron is stable and that it has a knife edge to heat both the pad and the foot. It takes about 5 minutes to install 3 ICs. I recommend you a Hakko FX-951 and...

SE/30 Reloaded - Lets build it!

@eric In my experience, the first thing you have to do is solder the MC68882. The pads are about the same size as the 68882 legs and will be difficult to solder. Next, UH7, UD12 and UF12, Their pads are also smaller. Other soldering tasks are relatively easy. Good luck!

Rev1.0 worked fine with no footprint mistakes. For the next step, minor change in Rev1.2 (1.1 is a plan failure): - The LEDs are powered from +12V (similar to my Neck Board) instead of from +5V. There are 3 positions for LED placement because there is a preference. You can install it as you...

I'm slowly updating the board while waiting for the PCB to arrive. I used 5V to power the LED, but changed it to 12V. The original has dots scattered around the ground fill, but I did it the same way. I created the BOM first, so please use them. *Dec 22, Analog BOM Updated. *Dec 5, Neck board...

    Mac IIci Success Story

This is my LC475 running 50MHz, no issue... Carrera040 and Turbo040 can also be overclocked. Theoretically Booster40 should be possible. Yeah, I would be happy if it helps someone, the copper layer damaged by the electrolyte can be revived, so being clean is sometimes wonderful. But what happens after recapping is mostly due to solder cracks. Or overlooking that the legs of the parts are black and corroded. In that case, solder...
