    SMC ROM SIMM Prototype

Any ROM SIMM working on a stock board will work in a replica board. (I can confirm that both the stock and Rominator II SIMMs will work) However, if you remove the PLCC chips from any ROM SIMM and put them into the replica’s PLCC sockets (which don‘t exist on the stock logic board), they will...

Press the ⌘ and the V keys on your keyboard at the same time. It‘s the same keyboard shortcut as if you would paste some text from the clipboard.

Anyone help me with LocalTalk 3 pin Cable pinouts?

Check Inside AppleTalk Btw. you can swap pin 1 and 2.. It doesn‘t make a difference due to the encoding LocalTalk uses.

    A “NEW” quadra 800?

My Studio Display is also green-ish when connected to a Quadra 700.. I believe it’s somehow related to ’sync on green’ . There is a System Extension made for the Apple Basic Color Monitor that can solve this.

    IIsi Boot Issue

I think you should be able to boot System 6 with no SIMMs installed.. If you have SIMMs installed, they need to be identical and all four sockets must be populated. To boot System 7, you need at least 2MB, so at least one additional Megabyte needs to be installed in the sockets.

    Macintosh IIsi Powersupply troubles.

It‘s a bit hard to see in the video, but did you also recap that tiny daughter board inside the PSU? Maybe there is a short somewhere, causing the PSU to shut itself off. From what I can see your EGRET and therefore also the 5VTrickle from the PSU are working properly. There is a schematic...

Macintosh Classic CAS PAL / ROM Replicas

Hi everybody I'm currently assembling a Classic Reloaded board from @Kai Robinson (bought from @MacEffects ). On my donor board, the ROM and CAS PAL chips lost some legs due to the battery explosion. Is there a possibility to replicate the CAS PAL chip using something like a ATF22V10C? I...

I fixed the board today; the bus buffers were indeed the problem.

In my opinion, that‘s definitely the best and only way to obtain a 3D model of such an object

SATA? In an old world PCI Power Mac?! IMPOSSIBRU! (Updated 11/22/23)

I just upgraded my card with an eSATA port. 🤓 However I wasn‘t able to get it working yet, but it is not unlikely that this is related to the disk and not the card.. Edit: the PSU was dead.. Attached a new one and the drive now gets detected 😃

Upgrading IIsi onboard RAM to 4MB

Well, the only RAM currently in the system are the 1MB onboard chips. Because one of the chips was not identical to the others, I removed them (no death chime anymore!) and replaced them with those of a battery-bombed IIsi. I cannot confirm that they are working though... As I wrote on the...

Upgrading IIsi onboard RAM to 4MB

I have a IIsi with similar symptoms (start & death chimes). Do you think that bad bus buffers might be the issue? In other words, was your broken trace the only issue or were your bus buffers probably damaged as well?

    LCII Sony Superdrive Issue

Did you also clean the R/W heads? If yes, are you sure that you didn‘t pull the upper head too much upwards and thus have permanently bent the bronze strap/spring? I destroyed two drives this way and the symptoms are the similar… Insert a disk into the disassembled drive and check if the upper...
