Emulator for MacOS 8/9 + Macsbug

Qemu? I haven‘t tried MacsBug, but it can run A/UX, so it should be a fairly accurate emulation

Apple IIe Card for Mac crashing during loop

G Well, ESD could harm a chip during improper handling and the effects may appear a long time after out of the blue. Was this card ever exposed to a harmful electric field, maybe wrapped in plastic foil or so?

    Mega 4 / Megafile 60 – How to backup?

Hi everyone, I have a fully working Atari Mega 4 with Megafile 60 hard disk. Now I'd like to make a backup of the hard disk in case it should fail in the future. I can transfer files to my vintage Macs using 720k floppy disks, but this would be a tedious work ;) What can I do? I guess there...

Support for PPP in The Old Net WiFi modem

No, using an USB-C to Micro-USB cable, but it should not make a difference. Did you try another cable? There are some cheap charger cables without data wires.

Support for PPP in The Old Net WiFi modem

I have an ESP32 board which probably uses the same USB<->UART chip. It works fine on my M1 Pro MBP with Monterrey and I don't remember installing any drivers for it. I use the ESP-IDF flash tool. The device shows up as /dev/cu.usbserial-0001. Product id (see System Information.app) is 0xea60...

Upgrading IIsi onboard RAM to 4MB

Yes this will likely work as long as the rated access time is equal or lower and the pinout is the same.

Mystery Apple KanjiTalk Font Card (NuBus) [630-0174-A] Does anyone recongize this?

Makes perfect sense. Furthermore, NuBus access would have been a lot faster than hard drive or even floppy access, which should be vital for drawing text.

    Cant launch XPostFacto

I don’t exactly know what the error message could mean, but assuming that XPostFacto might require CarbonLib, I would make sure it is installed and updated. This is just a quick guess and others might have better ideas 😉

    IIci restoration chances

Be careful with the corroded pads. The cap goo could have crept under them and weakened the bonding to the pcb.

    Building A/UX Device Drivers

I can confirm A/UX already works with BlueSCSI and Macintosh II series computers like the SE/30. A/UX‘s complicated startup procedure is due to the fact that the Macintosh ROM was not intended to load anything else than a Macintosh System file on a HFS volume. The A/UX kernel however is on an...

    A “NEW” quadra 800?

I think it‘s a PCPC video card with 9-Pin TTL video connector. This one is similar: https://www.ebay.ch/itm/154195765446?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=5222-175126-2357-0&ssspo=tWt0jM94Q9W&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=e3-7ygrpska&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

    A “NEW” quadra 800?

Appears to be a normal NuBus card… I can‘t see any reason why this would not work in an 800. Do you have higher resolution images?

Macs and Museums. How would you display them, and which models should be there.

There is a nice museum here in Switzerland: https://enter.ch/ They also have Macs, a couple of Lisas and even an original Apple 1! Definitely worth a visit!
