Looking at this again - it might just be Ethernet-Phonenet, not Localtalk at all? I see two RJ-style ports on it, no DIN-style ports though

Does the AsanteTalk work well for Internet? Or is that really just for LocalTalk?

How do these things compare to something like a RaSCSI or The Old Net's Wifi adapter? As in, would those $20 eBay ones or the new Asante ones be able to accomplish the same goal of connecting an old Mac to a modern network?

Do you have more details to the error message or log? And are you able to verify the MD5 hash?

Without downloading the file myself - it looks like only 1 of the utilities is relevant to 68k, and the whole package won't fit on a floppy. Did you extract the one utility you need from the .img?

Thanks! I think I was probably too focused on getting a physical ethernet port, whereas these emulated solutions seem to do the job much more easily. Haha, I definitely don't think I'm going to do a whole lot - just a project to see what it can do!

Ah, thanks, I was worried about that. I was comparing the price to FB Marketplace, eBay, etc. and by comparison this seemed like a steal, particularly since I wouldn't have to pay shipping. Is the battery stuff fixable or is it really just not worth my time?
