WarpSE: 25 MHz 68HC000-based accelerator for Mac SE

I'm excited about it! A few questions (sorry if I missed them earlier in the thread): -Is this designed as a plug-and-play deal? Or is there extra configuration/soldering/board work that would need to be done? -The 68HC000 is just a plain 68k clone right? Which means no built-in FPU, 32-bit...

Interesting solution for LocalTalk to Ethernet bridge

Oooh, so you could go LocalTalk-Phone-Ethernet that way? That makes sense then.

    Getting a Macintosh SE Online

After looking around at things more, I had a few more questions. RaSCSI seems like it would be a great solution, unfortunately I can't seem to find a Raspberry Pi anywhere online for a reasonable price. I'm guessing they were hit by the chip shortage. The Old Net's wifi modem seems like a great...

Interesting solution for LocalTalk to Ethernet bridge

Looking at this again - it might just be Ethernet-Phonenet, not Localtalk at all? I see two RJ-style ports on it, no DIN-style ports though

Interesting solution for LocalTalk to Ethernet bridge

Does the AsanteTalk work well for Internet? Or is that really just for LocalTalk?

Interesting solution for LocalTalk to Ethernet bridge

How do these things compare to something like a RaSCSI or The Old Net's Wifi adapter? As in, would those $20 eBay ones or the new Asante ones be able to accomplish the same goal of connecting an old Mac to a modern network?

    Help creating a floppy image

Do you have more details to the error message or log? And are you able to verify the MD5 hash?

    Help creating a floppy image

Without downloading the file myself - it looks like only 1 of the utilities is relevant to 68k, and the whole package won't fit on a floppy. Did you extract the one utility you need from the .img?

    Getting a Macintosh SE Online

Thanks! I think I was probably too focused on getting a physical ethernet port, whereas these emulated solutions seem to do the job much more easily. Haha, I definitely don't think I'm going to do a whole lot - just a project to see what it can do!

    Getting a Macintosh SE Online

Hi all, I'm buying a Macintosh SE, and I'd like to try getting it connected to the internet. There's a lot of guides out there for how to do that, however I'm a little unclear on the best way to actually get it phyiscally hooked up. It sounds like PDS cards with ethernet exist, but since...

Buying a Mac Plus - Where to Start?

Thanks Stephen. It's about an hour drive away and I was hoping for something that I could get working with only a little bit of work, but this probably isn't that. It sounds like people on here (like Drake!) have better, confirmed working models that wouldn't cost that much more. Or at least...

Buying a Mac Plus - Where to Start?

Thank you! Sounds like I should skip this one. What's the best place to look for old Macs? Is this forum the best bet?

Buying a Mac Plus - Where to Start?

Ah, thanks, I was worried about that. I was comparing the price to FB Marketplace, eBay, etc. and by comparison this seemed like a steal, particularly since I wouldn't have to pay shipping. Is the battery stuff fixable or is it really just not worth my time?

Buying a Mac Plus - Where to Start?

Hi all, I'm going to pick up this Macintosh Plus locally for $40: https://madison.craigslist.org/sys/d/beaver-dam-macintosh-plus-1mb/7420814827.html I asked for some pictures of the battery compartment because I've heard those can leak and have issues, but it looks like there's just general...
