Using the Sun to restore a yellow Macintosh ☀️

I'm afraid every time people sent me results, via email, messenger, and Facebook groups, I didn't save the images to satisfy your curiosity. You are free to search Facebook's apple II groups, Forums and emails from 8 to 10 years ago, when I had those discussions. My good advice comes from eight...

Using the Sun to restore a yellow Macintosh ☀️

Hey, foremost, we are all friends here, no bad blood. If my words sounded like accusing you of anything, I apologize. Don't come here to fight, just to share experiences and learn from each other. I can point you to a person that has destroyed plastics: me. I didn't learn what I know by doing...

Using the Sun to restore a yellow Macintosh ☀️

The damage is called streaking or marbling. It basically bleaches or burns some parts to an extent that it's not recoverable without damaging the plastic. I'm all for trying new techniques and experiments, but don't tell the world that your "plastic wrapping" is the recommended method. My...

Using the Sun to restore a yellow Macintosh ☀️

Plastic wrap is well known to damage the plastics, but it is your prerogative. Don't blame retrobright later, as it's not the recommended or original method, but a lazy way to do it. Cheers Jav.

    Atari 8 bits

Howdy! I have an Atari 800XL, an AtariMax MyIDE ][ Cartridge, and know NOTHING about Atari, other than turn it on to load games. I want to add Prince of Persia game to the MyIDE CF card, but the info online only tell you how to format, which is pretty obscure. Anyone with experience using My...

"Platinum" PLA for Macs and Apple ][s

Cool, it's a matter of personal taste. My opinion is that the PLA needs to be as close to the original to recreate or replace parts and don't show a contrasting difference. The ColorFabb Filament provides that exact match that can be used to replace broken pr improved parts. On my platinum Color...

    Apple IIc Logic Board Problem

You got a ROM 255. Sounds like you have a RAM problem, I would start by replacing all Main RAM chips (MRD 0-7). Also, could be the IWM that is bad, but most likely just RAM. To test, you need to upgrade the ROM to 0 or above, and do open apple - closed apple - control - reset to enable self...
