    It will be interesting to see my results and if nothing else, another data point for your project! I'm also hopeful that if and when I swap the MC88920 out, that my 80ns VRAM is of the more resilient type! Hmm, can't seem to attach a photo, but they are Mitsubishi M5M482257J.

    Really appreciate the response! Yes, I understand the limitations, but also my limitations! So for the time being I will leave the original IC in place, while I try to hone my SMD desoldering/soldering skills, which are in their infancy! Love the power supply mod, BTW!
