Making a replacement Hinge for a 15" Studio Display

Hey folks, I recently picked up a few monitors and unfortunately one of them has a broken hinge. I looked for a 3D model for the 15 inch Apple Studio Display hinge but couldn't find one. Long story short my brother in law did up a STL file for me and we prototyped it on a 3D printer. Now that...

Apple 15 inch Studio Display (M4551) missing a power supply

Hey folks! A friend of mine saved this Apple 15 inch (Blueberry) display from the recycler and asked if I wanted it. Of course like any sane person I said YES lol Unfortunately this one didn't come with a power supply so I have no way to power it up for testing. I was wondering if one of you...

    ADB Mouse/Keyboard Recapping

Funny you mention that. I have an ADB Mouse II here that had been working fine but I went to use it the other day and it was completely unresponsive. I suspect a cap issue but haven't had the time to investigate further. If it is a bad cap it would be the first I've had to deal with in a...

Help Please - I've confused my Beige G3 trying to setup SATA

In speaking with the seller he informed me that he has a note in the listing about "Some Beige G3's with different revisions may need older firmware at this adaptor" Unfortunately I did not see this note at the time of purchase or I would have asked if my 820-0991-A board is "one of the...

Help Please - I've confused my Beige G3 trying to setup SATA

Yes I wasn't sure if 10.3 was supported or not so I figured it would tell me on the screen if it wasn't compatible. Instead it just sort of hung there at the Apple logo with the spinner going on and on forever. I managed to resolve the "Can't OPEN" error with CMD + OPT + P + R holding it...

Help Please - I've confused my Beige G3 trying to setup SATA

Hello, So having watched Action Retro Shenanigans with SATA cards in Beige Macs I recently decided picked up a SATA controller card off ebay for use in my G3 minitower. I plugged the card into the tower and added a SSD, booted into MAC OS 9.2.2 and could see the drive no issue. I initialized...

    Color Classic motherboard woes

I have a color classic board with the same behaviour. It's currently with Amiga of Rochester for diagnosis and repair. The suggestion I had been given on the forums before sending it off was to try an ultrasonic clean and try removing, cleaning, the cuda chip if the ultrasonic cleaning didn't...

Purchased a 400mhz G3 ZIFF Upgrade CPU but after installation G3 Still reports 266Mhz

PSU in which? G3 B&W? Is there a guide for an ATX conversion? I've been thinking about doing that for a spare G3 desktop board I picked.

Thanks for this, It will come in handy when I get the new CPU (just ordered another that is actually labelled 400mhz this time - and it was cheaper too). >>BTW, the jumpers are here LOL yes I know where they are thanks :) Too bad I have to void my warranty ;)

Purchased a 400mhz G3 ZIFF Upgrade CPU but after installation G3 Still reports 266Mhz

Hi There, I picked up a Beige G3 a while back that I've really been enjoying and that's the one I would like to add the new cpu too. Problem now is that it's been pointed out that the CPU I was sold is actually a 300mhz cpu so I'm speaking with the ebay seller who sold me the CPU asking for a...

Purchased a 400mhz G3 ZIFF Upgrade CPU but after installation G3 Still reports 266Mhz

I was just wondering about that. Seems like the Sonnet cards didn't need to change any jumper settings but a apple ziff cpu does is that right; Am I correct that this is actually only a 300mhz processor based on the 300 denoted on the label?

Purchased a 400mhz G3 ZIFF Upgrade CPU but after installation G3 Still reports 266Mhz

Hi there, Well here I was all excited to install my new CPU thinking I'd open up system profiler to see a 400mhz G3 cpu upgrade listed. Yet when the system booted up and I went into the profiler all I saw was 266Mhz. So what am I missing? Attached pictures from the sale where he clearly...

G3 Iomega Zip 100 Drive was working now doesn't mount disks

Another day another new problem on my old hardware :) So not even a week ago I had a Biege G3 tower with working CD-Rom, Floppy, USB, and Zip Drive. Today everything works BUT the zip drive. I'm hoping the drive isn't dead but I know Zip Drives are kind of notorious for that. In any case here...
